Snoop Dogg, Live!

So Friday and Saturday I was at Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec with lots of Heavy Rock bands like System of a Down, Slayer, Rob Zombie, Rancid, Offspring, Linking Park, Ministry, and ... Snoop Dogg.

I wasn't going to check out his show but deided to anyway and WOW was it every good. He played a bunch of his songs of course and then broke out into others from Big E Smalls and Tupac, then "Jump Around" (House of Pain), and even a Katy Perry song. Totally surprising, but it worked. The huge crowd went apeshit on every song. Snoop smoked constantly, and encouraged the crowd to light up too until the air was thick with fog. It was great. Lots of girls flashing their tits, crowd surfing, etc. Who knew Snoop could kill it at a Rock show?

And the sound - WOW. I am constantly impressed at the sound quality of outdoor shows, and Snoop's sound was by far the best. I've never heard bass so low and so loud before.

Anyway if he comes to your town, go to the show - you won't be disappointed.

No I didn't stick around. They weren't coming on stage until Midnight, and Montebello's an hour and a half drive from Montreal. I'd done enough dancing and partying and would have been afraid of falling asleep at the wheel, so I left before SOAD hit the stage. I saw them a year or so ago anyway, and I can't stand the singer so I don't think I missed anything.
