Iowa grants gun permits to the blind... FUCK YEAH!!!!
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Here's some news that has law enforcement officials and lawmakers scratching their heads:
Iowa is granting permits to acquire or carry guns in public to people who are legally or completely blind. No one questions the legality of the permits. State law does not allow sheriffs to deny an Iowan the right to carry a weapon based on physical ability. The quandary centers squarely on public safety. Advocates for the disabled and Iowa law enforcement officers disagree over whether it's a good idea for visually disabled Iowans to have weapons. rest of story here: Iowa grants gun permits to the blind :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh :1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
Everyone knows that I think gun laws are ultra weak in the US and even in Canada, but in a way, letting blind people own and shoot guns isn't itself a bad thing. Maybe carrying a gun is bad, but nothing wrong with owning one.
Blind people can use technologies like sonar to "see" their targets shoot, probably with surprising accuracy. And if your blind and want to target shoot as a hobby, why not? "Open Carry" on the other hand... |

Is what? Worse than having someone conceal carry? |

Ever watch a action movie?
The blind won't miss any more targets than those fuckers. :1orglaugh |
Federal Law prohibits discrimination based on disability, it's issue the permit or get sued and the state would undoubtedly lose that lawsuit.
The cynical side of me says that's probably why a blind person would even apply, hoping to get denied. $ Quote:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_c..._United_States It's allowed in more states than not. Law-Abiding citizens carry their guns openly, criminals hide theirs. |
