Hey Americans. Your cops are out of control.
Seriously whats the deal? These fucking goons are just shooting you dead for nothing these days.

Our national PR team has the world fooled.
We're just trying to scare away the illegals. |
We're aware. I assure you.

Pretty broad generalization of current events. |
Every time I turn on the TV someone is being killed by police that turns out to be unarmed.

He probably thought he was in danger..

Some dumb fat cop here in Toronto shot an unarmed kid on a ttc bus and lost his job and was charged with murder. You guys put them on paid leave. Its crazy.

Not enough footage for me to draw a conclusion. I can't really believe anything media says anymore (US or Russian). Maybe more video will show up.

This is what happens when you militarize the police so that citizens become "them" aka the enemy of the state. http://beforeitsnews.com/contributor..._of_wolves.jpg http://www.americasfreedomfighters.c...martiallaw.jpg |

P.S. I think now you will be added to the list of American haters. Those who "hate American freedom" :pimp |

just throwing this out there as it's a thought that just occurred to me while reading this thread..
nobody likes to be associated with bad stuff, and lots of people can't separate A from B. So, (and bear in mind I've not that long been awake, plus my normal too-lazy-to-perfect-my-board-posts-demeanour).. 1. gfy members say 'you' as in 'your country', other gfy members read 'you' as 'you, whom are directly responsible and associated with things that in reality have no control over 2. this creates an 'us versus them' mentality - non-americans know jack shit about the US (guns, culture, dangers, etc) 3. brain creates reasons and/or justifications for majority of situations ================== swap gfy members for police/civilians. way too fucking early, and way not worth my ROI to be more detailed/coherent, I'm secretly hoping someone with more time than me will formulate that far better, and post it :1orglaugh that's not a dig at anyone btw just to clarify - just had me wondering out loud how easy it is for us versus them to come into play, in a variety of ways. Tribalness(?) is pretty strong, and something something something. I need coffee & cigs but yeah, if you can decipher all that you'll know where my thoughts are coming from - be interested to hear your thoughts on *those*. |
Don't underestimate the power of a towel. You soak one in water and spin it in a circle, it becomes a deadly whip. A favourite weapon of jocks playing grabass in locker rooms.
|
The US has about 1 million police - Imagine a city of 1 million with no crime, no idiots, no racists and no corruption - Even if the citizens are vetted, it's not going to happen...
Add to that all the people in this city have a job where they deal with criminals, idiots etc. all day..... Of course shit is going to happen - It's all in the numbers... |
Thanks for the update. A certain percentage will be bad, just like any other job or whatever. :321GFY:321GFY
|
I think everyone knows you are going to get bad apples, I also think everyone is more wondering why the bad apples are glossed over, ignored completely, and/or seemingly encouraged.
You will get burglars, rapists, murderers, robbers, and so on in any big number group, I'm sure I don't see tons of people saying 'well, that's about normal' and nothing being done about it. |

Why don't you mind your own business? |

Also thats a very edited clip of what happened and if you judge on a clip that could have been made to look as bad as it does then your as foolish as the person who got on the business end of that gun. |

The 360 million number doesn't matter - If you have a million people (police) - You will have a certain number of bad ones - I got the million number from Wikipedia etc. and it seems its about that if you average it out the various sources... I think we might be arguing the same point:upsidedow..... |
If you would like to assimilate all of our criminals we will migrate them to Canada.
Then the American Police won't be paranoid and shoot on site like idiots. In fact, if you would like some police we will send them to Canada to control all the criminals we will send to you. It's a package deal ... Our present to the Great White North. You may want to start owning guns too after this. Piss in you own puddle 'eh! Fuckin'eh, what do you care? You just have to deal with all of your Stinkies, assorted Turban Heads and Jamaicans -- Commonwealth. But, if you want to solve our USA problem I will personally buy 5 convicted felons bus tickets from here to Windsor, ON -- lots of us would. They can become your new Hosers and you can pay more taxes to give them housing along side your Stinkies. That said, our USA police are pussies-ass fuckers killing randomly? Really it's just the few that get all of the media play. The advent of mobile phone video has exposed what has been going on here all of my lifetime. There is also a lot of racial and ethnic hostility by the terrified "WASP white men" in America. Unfortunately, some of these idiots carry guns that they can use under the color of authority. The US Supreme Court has to define when a police shooting is "good" and Congress pass law that reinforces that ruling more specifically under U.S. Code: Title 18 - CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE. Ship 100 bad cops to federal prison and put them into the general population. Only then, will these, relatively few, bad apple cops think twice before they shoot. If the shoe fits wear it. |

Since some people don't seem to know how to click and read:
"Walter William DeLeon remained in critical condition on Tuesday, after Los Angeles police officers shot him four times when he waved them over for help on Friday night. The officers reportedly believed the 48-year-old father of two had a gun when he flagged them down with a towel wrapped around his hand. After the officers shot DeLeon they established that he was not carrying a weapon. " Sounds justified now assholes? |
Obviously, there is a problem here.
Any solutions? |

The LAPD was once known as ?the world?s greatest police department,? due largely to its stringent character screening. Back in the era of Sergeant Joe Friday, LAPD candidates were checked out as thoroughly as homicide suspects. Even a casual relationship with any known criminal excluded a candidate from being considered as a police officer. All that is now history. In a bid to appease racial activists and meet federal decrees, strict screening and testing measures were dismantled. New black and Hispanic officer candidates were hustled into the ranks at any cost. What former deputy chief Steve Downing called ?a quagmire of quota systems? was set up, and ?standards were lowered and merit took a back seat to the new political imperatives.? It was back in 1981 that the LAPD first entered into a federal consent decree that instituted quotas for female and minority hiring. To meet these demands, the standards for physical capability, intellectual capacity, and personal character were lowered. The result was that many incapable or mediocre recruits?even significant numbers with criminal links or gang associations?were accepted into the department. https://www.aei.org/publication/how-...he-lapd/print/ |

Retired cop uses Twitter to accuse Baltimore police of brutality and corruption Former Sgt. Michael Wood spent a decade with the Baltimore Police Department. A retired Baltimore cop is blowing the whistle on police brutality and misconduct he allegedly witnessed during his decade on the force. Former Sgt. Michael A. Wood Jr. listed his disturbing allegations in a Twitter firestorm Wednesday but stopped short of naming names or providing dates and locations. "So here we go," the ex-detective and U.S. Marine, 35, wrote to his thousands of followers. "I'm going to start Tweeting the things I've seen & participated in, in policing that is corrupt, intentional or not." The claims read like a blotter. "A detective slapping a completely innocent female in the face for bumping into him, coming out of a corner chicken store," he said in his first example. "Punting a handcuffed, face down, suspect in the face, after a foot chase. My handcuffs, not my boot or suspect," the officer who served from 2003 until an injury forced his retirement January 2014 said in his second. A third tweet claimed fellow officers would turn video cameras away from any action as soon as a suspect was close to being caught. "Pissing and sh---ing inside suspects homes during raids, on their beds and clothes," he claimed in one tweet that quickly racked up more than 880 re-tweets. Wood claimed he also had knowledge of officers lying in court and "jacking up and illegally searching thousands of people with no legal justification." He said he didn't remember "any particular person" who was searched illegally because it happened every day. "I'm one person relying on a flawed memory system. This is an indictment on the culture of the profession, not a witch-hunt. Sorry," he tweeted. |

Supreme Court weighs S.F. police shooting of mentally ill woman - SFGate
Quote:
It's our courts that allow the cops to kill with little restriction. I guess if you are a potential or imaginary threat you can be shot and killed by the police legally. The sensible thing to do was to say "drop the towel and show me your hand" to determine if there was a real threat -- he shot first apparently. No, I didn't read the article usually these first accounts are not entirely accurate. But that would decide if the cop walks or gets the firing squad if I was the Judge. Real knowledge of a life threatening situation before you kill. |

Uhhh....hate to be the one to break it to you but Dragnet was not a reality TV show and Joe Friday was a fictitious character. |
Cops are different all over the country, some parts just suck and no one goes there except the unlucky ones stuck there. Then they become cops just to have jobs and either don't know what they're doing or mad at the world that they didn't go any farther in life like everyone else they know and that rage builds inside them until power trips happen..
Cops around here the other day, no lie: "Hey, you know that I could have knocked down your door since I was watching you put away your weed and bongs with my flashlight, right?" "Sorry" "That's ok" :upsidedow |
The guy was clearly out at the point the video was shot. Why the fuck were they putting handcuffs on him?
