Fuck, our import beers aren't even imported!
Becks is not imported from Germany.
I already knew that Becks is not an original German recipe but thought it was still made there. I'm not going to dig through receipts to get the $50 refund; but I might go for the $12. Trouble brews for ?imported? beers made in America - Yahoo Finance Red Stripe is not from Jamaica either. :Oh crap |
I hope Sierra Nevada is actually from the Sierra Nevada region...and I am talking about the beer, not the performer ;)

but it definitely tasted different, I lived in Bremen for 2 years and Becks is still one of my favorites but the american one didn't taste by far as good as the original German one |

At least Lidl has German beers, but I guess there ain't Lidl in America. Also, I don't know how good are the Lidl beers by German standards, maybe they export all the shit in here and fake it being some premium German beer. I have heard rumors about that.
Genuine German import. :) |

Most worldwide beer brands have breweries in many countries. So it is not necessary "imported".
Does it say on the bottle/can that it is imported? |

In Germany the Reinheitsgebot applies and typically an exported beer from there reflects that. Your seemingly foreign beer just lacks an import stamp is all.

you should check out the documentary Beer Wars, it touches on lots of things that are wrong with the alcohol industry!

Of course, had the consumers looked at the label they would have known it was brewed in the US!

You can buy any "imported" beer also bottled in Australia eg: Corona, Bud, Becks is all bottled here.

If you read the back side of the bottle, you will see where and when exactly it was made. We also produce a lot of Czech and German sorts of beer locally. However imported ones are also available. Usually the imported beer is 2-4x times is more expensive than local.
