Looks like they want to be Americans after all.. I bet Putin is unhappy. They could of at least made it look a little bit Russian and made the dome look like an ice cream cone and not the traditional Westren style capitol dome with the pillars and all..

The reason many Westren countries use that style including the U.S., is because it's a thow back to aceint Greece and Rome as the first sucessful democracies. Seems silly for Russia to try to emulate this style, unless the Russian senators were trying to send a message to the Putleir.

Or maybe it simply was the nicest design out of all that were offered in the contest and the only blame for that style should go to the architects that entered contest with this design?
