Those are pretty ugly, bro. Seriously. Don't buy them. Get these, thank me later. Your life will never be the same.

Would you happen to have a picture of what those would look like with jeans/slacks on? I would imagine the pant cuff would easily hang down over the neck of the shoe, which is what I like. Difficult with many styles of shoes.

Sid70 07-01-2015 11:22 AM

Nah, Inspectors only IMO.

I may be able to dig one up somewhere but just trust me when I say that these particular boots or any Prada shoe with that exact same type of rubber sole will look good with anything. You can wear them with suits, with jeans, with whatever the fuck you want, and they will always look great. I've been getting variations of similarly soled Pradas since 2002. The only problem with them is that they look so good and are so comfortable, you'll want to wear them with everything all the time and will thus wear them out more quickly than what you might expect for such a high price. Because of the little red stripe on the back of the heel, it's damn near impossible to find a cobbler who can resole them properly. And believe me, I've tried some pretty highly regarded ones here in Manhattan and not one has been able to do it properly so I just gave up stopped trying. Now I buy two pairs at a time because I heard that if you regularly alternate them, they will last longer than if you just constantly wear the same pair all the time until you're ready for the next. Not sure if that's true or not but I do it just in case.

Sure, you are giving each pair half of the wear so they are lasting twice as long.

It's a nice-looking shoe. I wonder if they would have it at Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom's.

you should be able to send them to the factory for a refurbishment
:2 cents:

Why do they claim them as oxfords if they clearly are not?
Your black ones that you posted - that is oxford.

EDIT: they do not claim it, URL misguided me, all good, derby shoes :)

Why the heck do you need to resole it exactly like they were? Just resole them without red stripe, they won't look any worse.
Seriously, this statement of yours is ridiculous. Just resole it remotely close to how it was and enjoy your shoes.

And these shoes may look good (subjective), but they are definitely no no with the suit :)
If you do not believe me, post in any style forum (style forum .net as an example) and be assured that suits + these shoes are no no.

2cents of course :)
