You could make a much bigger list of dead mainstream affiliate programs.

I've been at HUSTLER three years and MaxCash was two jobs before that for me. So, sadly it has been a while since that flat-lined but it sure was great in its day.

DonJon69 07-02-2015 10:18 AM

Remember some of those.

They died, cause they were shitty.. Good for the high quality paysites that actually provide some value to customers.

TheSquealer 07-02-2015 11:10 AM

In the first few years, there were 1000's. Pay sites were everywhere and wag one had its own affiliate program. There were massive directories just tracking all of them but the directories were worthless because they came and went so fast.

This is an industry full of thieves and jerk offs. It's alway amusing that people are surprised they can't make it over the long term. You'd have to be pretty naive about business, leadership and management to go go to any show and look around and think "wow, this is a crowd that will be around forever"

stoka 07-02-2015 11:15 AM

i recently checked recips on a few ancient gallery depots of mine and 80% of those lil banners point to abadoned domains

If I were one of those TGP owners I would just re-direct the link to something that pays. Or take the gals down.

Then people wonder why sales are dwindling. There's so much lifeless useless dead CRAP out there littering the landscape that it reduces sales overall for sites that are still operating.

TheMoneyMan 07-02-2015 12:43 PM

we have worked with a few advertisers that were once big and are now dead.

Money management is to blame...

If your not growing, your dieing.

I'm curious how they can go out. I mean the biggest expense is setting everything up affiliate program wise. Once you are live you just need to keep the sites going and maybe update your banners time to time.

No, not that. They didn't die because they were shitty, they died because of tubes. There are a fuckload of excellent sites with tons of excellent custom content dead and dying for the same reason. How are you going to compete with your paysites featuring less than 100 custom scenes (which each cost north of 2k to shoot) against a tube featuring 2000 scenes, including yours, in the same niche? Not fucking easy.

My mistake back in the day was thinking that there was no way that tubes wouldn't get sued out of existence in a matter of months. Who knew?

cam_girls 07-16-2015 04:57 PM

I had to drop CamAffiliate our doors were open 6 months but got booted from GFY ... so you all missed out on Amazing CAMGIRLS.COM POPs! :winkwink:
