Elevated X CMS Now Supports Use of GoDaddy Hosting

We now support use of GoDaddy shared hosting plans with Elevated X.

With the recently released CMS version 4.0, Elevated X users can now take advantage of ultra-cheap hosting plans from companies such as GoDaddy. This means that users of both the Elevated X Basic and Elevated X Pro CMS versions can run sites on GoDaddy's virtual hosting plans starting at a little as $10.99 per month including required host resource upgrades.

We realize that high hosting cost is one of the biggest barriers to entry for new site owners. Site owners will need to upgrade their hosting as more members join but we?ve made it possible for our entry level and startup customers to start developing new sites on cheap hosting and pay next to nothing for hosting services until they begin to scale up in traffic and their sales levels increase.

For a brand new starter site, Elevated X now recommends a shared hosting setup with at least 512MB of RAM available (1GB preferred), and 5GB of hard drive space free. This opens up Elevated X customers to running new sites on shared hosting and VPS installs.

We?ve eliminated the need for someone to spend hundreds of dollars a month for dedicated server hosting long before they actually need it. And what?s even better, the CMS now supports video encoding on shared hosting which was not possible previously.

This move is part of an initiative we began last year to implement a series of changes to make it cheaper for people to start higher quality web sites.

Wow man, this opens you guys to more clients. Are you guys getting more staff if it gets more busy? :)

Damn, are you sure this a good move i am sure a paysite owner who can't afford good hosting won't be able to afford the content for is or her site if he doesn't shoot it him self.

They already are using them...All we've done here is enable them to continue to use them rather than require them to move away. We (and the clients) know it's only temporary and once their site gets rolling they can expect to move to hosting that will meet their needs as they scale.

I don't anticipate the floodgates opening up to where we need more staff but that would be nice. :) The main thing we're doing here is giving people the option of using shared hosting for smaller sites, new sites or during the initial building phase to save money.

That's true and for serious players good hosting is a deal breaker. There are a lot of hobbyists, newbies, cam models, etc. who are at a slower pace. Someone buying or shooting content who wants to get a site started but only has a few dozen scenes in the can has a much harder time justifying paying for good hosting in the beginning. Next to the Visa/MC high risk fees, hosting is the biggest barrier to entry for a lot of new site builders.

If we weren't already getting requests for this on a regular basis we wouldn't have made the move. The goal is to make it realistic for someone without a large budget to build a pay site that people might actually join.

Thanks everyone for all the bumps. :thumbsup

Seems to make sense if you already have people requesting it.
