As of today Mozilla is blocking Flash

Can Adobe please get it's shit together? I feel like they have had plenty of time to fix their issues.

I hear you!
I have no less than five machines needing constant update of their damn flash software. And each time they try to tag along the Mcafee antivirus or Chrome toolbar. Makes me wounder if all the updates are just to bring me back and have another shot at getting me to forget to un-check the cross sa...ehhh the extra offered software.

michael.kickass 07-14-2015 10:48 AM

Web developers should stop using it asap.

Vendot 07-14-2015 10:49 AM

Is this why firefox isn't loading flash properly?

brassmonkey 07-14-2015 11:04 AM

actually it happened yesterday

Paz 07-14-2015 11:12 AM

it happened for me yesterday too. Now all my Google Ads on my mainstream sites aren't serving in FF and my cam sites aren't working either.

I will check my notes, but last time I checked, blocking something made it not load properly. :1orglaugh

I have completely uninstalled stand-alone Flash from my computer. I just use Chrome which has a sandboxed version of Flash running in it that gets updated on it's own via Google.

For some people that would mean finding a new career.

Man, at one time I thought flash was going to be my ticket.
I spent so much time learning flash as 3 different versions of Action Script came out for
flash; so to see it all go down like this just blows my mind.

I'm talking years of expertise just flushed down the toilet.

:Oh crap

JuicyBunny 07-14-2015 11:34 AM

Use FlashDisable 1.1.1.1 - FF plug-in
Installs in tool bar load flash only when you have to. We were having so many problems with flash and FF until we added this plug-in.

So many sponsors still use flash. Why?

iSpyCams 07-14-2015 11:37 AM

I think server side at least there's a lot of things that are really hard to do without flash. Cams is one of them. You can make it so the flash content plays in HTML5, or so I'm told but I am not enough of a developer to know the details.

woj 07-14-2015 11:42 AM

didn't they release patched version today? ->

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Yep, that was the whole "mobile cam" issue.
Mobile didn't use flash and getting a decent work around seemed complex.
I looked for a ready-made solution a while back but couldn't find one.

ctggls 07-14-2015 12:09 PM

The question is what are the big cam companies going to do about it? It seems that most of them use flash to deliver the chat.

incredibleworkethic 07-14-2015 12:11 PM

I just downloaded firefox, flash updated and things work fine on it.

Am I missing something?

ReggieDurango 07-14-2015 12:14 PM

Lame lame

ZeroHero 07-14-2015 12:57 PM

Denny 07-14-2015 01:17 PM

That would be the day, maybe they'll finally rewrite so a 2d facebook game doesn't crash an 8 core machine that runs battlefield on max settings :(

I think they just wanna cross sell us mcafee ( I always say MC Cafe in my head :1orglaugh

TrafficTitan 07-14-2015 03:46 PM

Our PC API will give user-agents (browsers) without flash a HLS version ... Problem is there is no sound except in iOs.

I am very happy flash is dying it will hasten the progression of HTML5 WebRTC live HTML5 streaming with sound. Right now, with the exception of a few buggy beta implementations WebRTC is peer-to-peer. I expect that will change by the end of the year.

xXXtesy10 07-14-2015 04:16 PM

God damnit fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SBJ 07-14-2015 04:18 PM

And in fact, Mozilla?s Mark Schmidt says that once the ?publicly known vulnerabilities? are fixed, Firefox will stop actively blocking Flash.
Firefox Now Blocks Flash By Default (Update)

I'm surprised that big cam owners didn't push for a change in live streaming and have a plan B for when Flash will be blocked.

Right now everyone is in the mud because of the Flash problems. While most users can use Chrome and other browsers except Ff, the problem remains and it could go out of control.

Mr Pheer 07-14-2015 08:37 PM

So no more flash cookies? This is excellent!

freecartoonporn 07-14-2015 09:24 PM

imho f guys should stop playing GOD and let users surf the interwebs with warning.

on a side note, google should look in to ti, if their majoritry users are using flash for browsing YT.

I think latest firefox does not play flash if flash is not latest, i.e. it blocks flash if you have old flash. I can play flash on firefox, I have latest flash (18.0.0.209) and forefox 39 and I made nothing. This may make sense, 18.0.0.203 flash is bugged... on win8+ the explorer got not yet a 18.0.0.209 (I assu,e we have to wait windows update for it) and it plays buggy 18.0.0.203 happily.

tony286 07-15-2015 04:15 AM

i thought html 5 was supposed to do away with memory leech, Swiss cheese like flash.

Maurelle Marquez 07-15-2015 04:32 AM

This happened to me too. I though I just needed to update my Flash or something. Is there any fix to this?

I haven't checked but can't you just go to Tools>Add-ons and enable flash? I would guess FF would just disable flash here.

i want to agree but there are so many other folks playing the devil and exploiting loopholes - and most are smarter than me. i want to watch porn using flash without warnings, but i also don't want my machine to give away all my banking information...

perhaps this is a chance for RealPlayer to make a come back!

Actually no you can't they have disabled the "activate always" option, you must allow it for each site as you browse them. Their rational is that you will only allow it for sites you trust.
