Watermelon or cereal for breakfast?

Which is healthier?
Watermelon: 47 calories / 155g
Nestle - Fitnesse, Low Fat Whole Wheat Cereal 30g + 125ml Milk: 151 calories / 155g (cereal+milk)

According to calories is better to eat watermelon, but I'm pretty sure 155g wont cut it for breakfast from watermelon.. of course there are other things to look at then calories, so therefore I'm asking :)

Load of cum = 15 calories and you have to work for it so you burn at least that many!

There is too much racism in this thread.

SilentKnight 07-14-2015 04:09 PM

You must apologize for not using chocolate milk in your cereal.

TheSquealer 07-14-2015 04:11 PM

you should be eating meals balanced with carbs, fats and proteins. Not water and sugar. Eating your fill of starch and sugar and then being hungry 20 minutes later does you no good. There is only one "healthy" answer and that is to eat as your body is designed to eat... not to take things out of context and label them as "good" and "bad" as if "good" means "eat all you want no matter what". You need carbs, proteins and fats with every meal.

Watermelon should be a better choice.

davidclickpapa 07-15-2015 01:28 AM

watermelon is fructose, water and deliciousness. some vitamins may be involved. cereal with milk is full of proteins with fibers/carbs. if it's sugary, then more carbs. eat what you crave, unless you're on a strict diet.

Fructose is "carbs". The difference in here is that the cereals probably have shitload of so called "fast carbs" and probably not that much of those fibers (watermelon has fibers too). Getting fructose from some fruit is just fine, getting it from some candy bar is not fine.

I wouldn't eat just watermelon for breakfast, but from these options it is the more healthy one.

As a kid I had porridge for breakfast, usually topped with load of (mushy) strawberries (frozen and thawed). The porridge was usually "4-grain porridge"; made from 4 different grain species.

All you are going to do with 150grams of watermelon is piss your stomach off. Go with the cereal...

Of course. Your body defies the laws of physics. I'm. sure you're just full of energy all day long.in spite of having a terrible diet. Congrats on your successful malnourishment.

Bananas are great for metabolism, alas, eat too many daily & you can find yourself being poisoned with potassium, a common encounter!

Everything in moderation or anything can be bad for you :2 cents:

lolz? why wouldn't be a bowl of milk+cereals be enough for breakfast which I eat at 8AM, then I've a full dinner at 12? In those 4 hours I just sit and work on pc :)

Sorry, in the U.S., "dinner" means evening meal. So it appeared you were saying you ate a poor meal for breakfast and then did not eat again until the evening.

Regardless, your body is designed to eat a proper balance of carbs, fats and proteins. Cereal and milk do not even come remotely close. If it's keeping you sated for any period of time, it's likely high fat from the cereal (granola type cereals) and milk. Protein is minimal. You can simply check for yourself - if the goal is 40% of calories from protein, 40% from carbs and 20% from fat, how close to that does cereal and milk put you? Not close at all.

TrashyGirl 07-15-2015 12:56 PM

breakfast means break the fast, you break the fast that your body is in since what Americans call dinner (evening meal) the nite before. most likely your body has been fasting at least 10 - 12 or so hours. breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day. you need to give your body some calories and nutrition to work with. watermelon is 92% water. hardly going to do anything for you except as k0nr4d pointed out, make you piss.

My awesome breakfast... Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream...

1/2 Whole Milk - 75 Calories
1 Frozen Banana - 100 Calories
8 Mint Leaves - Negligible Calories
20 Ice Cubes - 0 Calories / -40 Calories (Heating the Ice is ~ -2 Calories per Ice Cube)
Shake of Cacao Nibs - 20 Calories

Total: 195 / 155 Calories

Tastes like fucking real ice cream. Makes about a full ice cream tub worth of "ice cream" so you will be stuffed full from pigging out.
