It Follows
Best horror movie I've seen in... a long time.
Feels like a horror movie made for real horror movie fans. Enjoy. |
Man I just finished watching this and I'm tense as fuck. Have felt this freaked out in forever lol.

Netflix?

That movie kicked ass.
I'm sorry to have read they're talking about a sequel. |
I've seen this one on TV yesterday, and it was good:

I did like the idea. It was fresh.
But overall it felt a bit too preachy in teaching teenagers about abstaining from sex. That Keir Gilchrest kid does a great job in this movie. http://i.jeded.com/i/its-kind-of-a-f...tory.17034.jpg |

I've been waiting for that one to hit video. Should be able to see it in a couple of weeks.
That chick is a pretty good actress and was in a great flick called The Guest. |

I do not get why people like to get scared.
Although, I admit, I watch some horror flick once in a while. I guess I have tendencies to masochism, because why else should I choose to be scared, especially when watching it alone. I bet there are many psychological studies about this paradox. |
I'm not really into horror movies, but this looks pretty interesting. Might check it out when it is released on DVD/Blu-ray. Anyone know when that will be?

Budget was only $2 mil. Tons of reviews and a fairly high score on IMDB, done with little known actors.
Sounds like whomever directed knew what they were doing. Will watch. (would have watched anyway, but now I'm looking forward to it that much more) |
"People who liked It Follows also liked..."
The Babadook (2014) A single mother, plagued by the violent death of her husband, battles with her son's fear of a monster lurking in the house, but soon discovers a sinister presence all around her. Anyone know anything about this one? |

I thought it had a lot of potential for a porn parody. The whole "fuck somebody to get rid of it" mechanic and all.
|
I liked it, I love horror, cant say i LOVED it, but i did like it :)

Check out 'We Are Still Here', very Fulci influenced, acting isn't on the level of It Follows, but still, very welcomed with so much shit horror. I thought Babadook sucked btw, not worth the watch. |
Imagine if Alfred Hitchcock and Brian DePalma fucked and had a baby. That's who this filmmaker is.
Great flick. I was in awe of the music, editing, photography, acting. |
Epic movie!

MILD SPOILERS BELOW
I think the dread was kind of ruined when they tried to physically fight it. Up until that point I was really creeped the fuck out, but "it" lost its fright factor after that scene. But I still loved it overall, and mainly because of the cinematic qualities -- not so much how scary it was or wasn't. The movie looked beautiful, had some simple, natural dialogue and there was a some camera work that made me stop and rewind a couple of times. And the score put me right back in the late 70's early 80's. It had some stuff to say about male/female relationships. The pretty girl will always go for the douchey guy, even when her friend zone captive would be willing to catch a curse just to fuck her. And the little chump was happy to be cursed along with her, just so he could be her boyfriend. We Are Still here was Pretty good Too, but It Follows is on a whole other level filmmaking wise. I'll watch any movie this guy makes from now on. |
