Looks much more promising than the other crap Marvel has been shoving down our throats lately like Craptain America, Thor, Hulk, Agents of Shield,etc...

The best ones were the original x-men 1-3

AllAboutCams 07-18-2015 09:05 AM

But it looks so stupid

mineistaken 07-18-2015 09:21 AM

another marvel style kid movie?

mineistaken 07-18-2015 09:24 AM

By the way - that actor has something annoying about him. Or maybe I just have an illusion of that because he played some annoying characters. But many actors are one sided and they play similar characters, it is like they are not acting but just being themselves and they can not do versatile characters.

I'm super over super hero movies. They peaked and shot their wad with ultron.

bronco67 07-18-2015 10:36 AM

I was reading about how all of the environment photography was done with macro cameras, so the stuff CGI Antman is running around on is real, with all of the imperfection, dirt, dust etc.

True, Ultron wasn't the best. But did you not like Winter Soldier? Winter Soldier is my favourite Marvel movie so far.

no, ultron made me realize i'm an R rated movie guy. these movies need to be grittier and smarter, like the original comics, not dumbed down and smoothed over to appeal to family crowds.

Paul Rudd.

He reeks of awesomeness.

Will I go to the theater to see it?
No.

Will I download it via a torrent?
Yes.

If I enjoy it via torrent will I buy the DVD?
Nope.

Adapt or die.

Quoted for truth! :thumbsup
When a guy with blades on his fist like Wolverine fights and cuts into people without a single drop of blood spilled... Marvel can :321GFY . Haha!

Picked up this in 3D blu-ray today. I'll watch it tonight, hopefully it's good :thumbsup

going to have to check this one out

Ant Man was a good movie, I enjoyed it. :thumbsup

Marvel, DC, and super hero movies are starting to lean more toward adult audiences as proved by Deadpool and Suicide Squad. You can't get much raunchier than Deadpool. I think they know, as others already stated, "they prematurely shot their load" with Ultron. They're still going to make those PG movies, but don't be surprised if you see a lot more graphic R or NC-17 rated super hero movies in the future. Especially with the massive success with Deadpool.

If you haven't seen Deadpool, it's probably the best super hero (he's actually an anti-hero, but we'll save that for another discussion) movie I've ever seen. Planning to go see it again, and certainly buying it once it is released, just for the deleted scenes.

While I can see Marvel doing more R rated movies I really doubt you will see anything Nc-17 since Marvel is Disney. But I agree I like my comics to be closer to R.

I'll prolly pick up Deadpool when it comes out on blu-ray.

Klen 02-22-2016 12:06 PM

I liked ant-man as well, though it will be boring as his power kind a sounded silly (since technically when you shrink someone could step on you) but it turn up how he is can be more powerful then any other hero just by shrinking to atom level. And also story was pretty good.

Deadpool came real close to being rated NC-17, and it's Marvel. News is that scenes were cut just to barely reach the R rating. Hell, some critics who watched the R version are screaming it should have been NC-17.

Somewhat unrelated, but I was a HUGE fan of Spawn comics growing up. When they released the movie, they killed the entire franchise for me by making it PG. I loved the comics because they were full of gore, sex, and bad language. The movie was a fucking joke. Even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles graphic novels were hardcore. They turned them into a kid's franchise. They're just now turning out more adult themed movies, but the damage has already been done as far as I'm concerned.

Not surprised you're the only person alive who doesn't like Paul Rudd. I'll bet you hate penguins too.

Not only was Spawn PG...but it was also a shitty movie. Someone with a proven track record should re-do it.

You DO realize that is NOT possible don't you?

Imagine how awesome an R-rated Iron Man would have been. Strippers in the private jets, tits and ass all around his house, in his car etc etc.

well just cause some were screaming it should've been NC-17 doesn't mean shit. I'm saying very clear that no Disney film will ever be NC-17. They have too much money and know too many ways to get passed things. That and Disney putting out a R rated movie is one thing but a NC-17 would be very damning for their brand even if it is Marvel which is part of Disney.

Yup, and even more cool shit even. I'm not a fan of gore but deadpool shows an r rated flick can pull in huge dollars and also doesn't need to be a gore fest.

dyna mo 02-22-2016 08:26 PM

And yes, ant man is a super fun pic. No doubt. It's no deadpool though.

It's just my opinion, but I believe Marvel is being treated as a stand alone brand. I would say they really pushed the envelope with Deadpool. I watched the opening and ending credits in their entirety and didn't see one reference to Disney, only Marvel.

Maybe you're right about the NC-17, but I believe the only reason they wouldn't do it is not because it would hurt their brand, but because of cinema censorship. Regular cinemas aren't allowed to show NC-17 movies. That would seriously cut into their revenues, and ultimately, making money is Disney's one and only true brand.

Even Wolverine III is projected to be a R-rated movie.

Nevermind....I was wrong. There are plans for one now.

Idigmygirls 02-23-2016 12:37 AM

I know I'm hyper-critical, but there are some things that I cannot suspend belief for.

For Ant Man, I was willing to accept that he could shrink. I was willing to accept that he gained strength in inverse proportion to his size.

You kind of have to give movies like this that much, since you know it going in and that's what makes it fun - physics be damned!

But what I couldn't get over . . . what I just couldn't suspend belief about . . . was when he first shrinks down, in the scuzzy apartment that he's crashed in, in the most sketchy, low-rent "bad" part of town - that he falls through cracks in the floor into a SUPER HOT NIGHTCLUB with knockout, ab-fab rich girls. WTF? Some underground nightclub and DJ party?

And then he falls through cracks in that, and ends up in like four other totally unrelated scenarios.

Where is this magical building that is residential/condemned on one floor, upscale club on another floor, commercial welder on another floor and so on.

Just had to turn it off at that point. Obviously there was no one actually tasked with trying to make the script sensical. :disgust

Darkcrni 02-23-2016 07:38 AM

I like Deadpool way more!

AllAboutCams 02-23-2016 08:14 AM

How the hell did you like that? total pile of shit just like deadpool was.

MikeAMS 02-23-2016 08:55 AM

I thought it was an "ok" movie.. i've defenitely seen much worse lately.. Only part that I personally disliked was the end where he goes Subatomic or to this other dimension or something.. Other than that :thumbsup

PR_Glen 02-23-2016 09:04 AM

antman best movie of the year? You need to raise the bar... it was watchable at best..

people wont shut up about how much cooler deadpool is because it is rated r and emphasize 'don't take your kids to this!' its' all marketing jargon being perpetuated by everyone. It's only rated r because of maybe 2 scenes and they are superfluous scenes that could have easily been axed. If you watch any decent r rated movie from the 80's you will see far worse shit even in a decent action movie. Fun to watch, for sure, great? game changer? No way..
