Premier League Fantasy Football

We having another bash at it this year? Not bothered about any prizes, but really enjoyed last season's GFY league and raring to see if I can improve this season :thumbsup

Scott McD 07-18-2015 10:54 AM

I gave up last season but yup will have another go if it's happening this year... :pimp

slapass 07-18-2015 10:58 AM

I would love to get in on it.

Manfap 07-18-2015 11:34 AM

As a Spurs fan, you have to have the hope of maybe winning something, even if it is fantasy!:winkwink:

SekobA 07-19-2015 03:18 AM

*blows raspberry* :winkwink:

btw, nice little factoid that usually throws a lot of people off - only 2 teams have won a major trophy in every one of the last 6 decades (ie post-war, with 4 years of this decade remaining so not yet included) - without googling, can you (anyone) name the 2 teams who have lifted major silverware in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s?

=====
also a bump for this... only 2 weeks until season kick-off!

OK, I'll play. Obviously Spurs or else you wouldn't have mentioned it. My guess for the other team is Liverpool.

You're calling the League cup a major trophy? :helpme
SPUDS haven't won the league since when? the 60's?
If you guys can finish on top of the Arsenal next year, that would be a great achievement...

11 Different managers in 14 years, that's THE problem.

I am down again this year for Fantasy Football, looks like they changed the rules a bit.

? Triple Captain ? your captain will score x3 points for one GW only

? All Out Attack ? switch to a 2-5-3 formation for one GW only

? Bench Boost ? players on your bench will score points for one GW only
Always fun to play and try to beat Ashley and Poppie.

correct, not long after being the first team to do the double in the 20th century - you already knew both those though :thumbsup

Punching above our weight and going for 4th place again is about as high as we are going to get for a few years yet. What your mob do isn't really here nor there :)

Agreed, and thinking that our problems are down to a lack of manager expertise, rather than being unable to attract better players due to stadium size/wage cap/lack of CL football, which is an infinite loop and extremely hard to break except for one-offs. Will be interesting to see how much effect the new ground has on those factors in a few years time, but until then we are realistically looking top 6, maybe top 5.

Not sure how this turned into a Spurs/woolwich thread, but hey, even your star boy couldn't help himself from singing about Spurs while he should have been celebrating winning a trophy. Reminds me of the people on here who worry about what mindgeek are doing instead of themselves :winkwink:

ps fair play to wenger, he is up there in the all-time great managers in the world. The whole 'shoestring budget' thing is dumb as fuck lol, but nobody can knock him for anything, as far as I'm concerned. Better than ferguson in my book (ok maybe not quite, but he has far more class than old bacon face).

We will be sponsoring it again with another prize fund. Paul and I are putting the final touches on it. Watch this space.
