The cost of space missions compared to war in Iraq

crockett 07-20-2015 04:20 PM

There is more money in selling Hummers, M16s and ammo than sending a single satellite a million miles away..

clickity click 07-20-2015 04:22 PM

If accurate. Holy fuck.

dyna mo 07-20-2015 04:24 PM

i guess that's one way to negatively spin space exploration.

dyna mo 07-20-2015 04:35 PM

and i must add it's also extremely fuckwaddy that the guy who jabs his finger at NASA's accomplishments as being a massive conspiracy is now using NASA's accomplishments in a bizarre comparison to the Iraq war. what's with this guy and NASA.

i mean wtf, rly.

:thumbsup

It's all about where the money is spent.

bloggerz 07-21-2015 08:52 AM

after all that money, look where it took us in Iraq. NOWHERE :2 cents:

No we invented lost of shirt because of Iraq...Teflon, Velcro, Nano particle insulation and on and on.

..ops. That was the space program. Iraq is where we invented the insurgents, huge government debt, and turned most of the world against us (including European nations that liked us).

I don't think you quite follow. It is more negative on the war in Iraq, no? $30 billion per month in Iraq versus $10.3 billion on all those Nasa missions. Unless I'm the one not following.

Rochard 07-21-2015 09:31 AM

Last night I watched Jupiter Ascending and was thinking..... We should be colonizing outer space. I mean, it should be a top priority for mankind.

Barry-xlovecam 07-21-2015 09:38 AM

If 'aliens' attacked space defense would cost a fuck of a lot more than the Iraq War has.

The comparison of the costs of space exploration and war is ludicrous.

Both space exploration and war advance technology. Advanced war technology does not resolve social needs -- that is the only difference.

i most certainly follow. one has nothing to do with the other. the fact of the matter is someone somewhere will get pissed off about how the budget is spent. there are people here who think it's insane to spend a nickel on space exploration. i can tell you that that $30billion spent on iraq would not have gone to space exploration. why not compare it to infrastructure repair? education system? comparing NASA to iraq in any way doesn't help either one and makes no sense. combined with the fact that the Op will use NASA to advance his own agenda, whether it's moon landings or probing the solar system.

You are looking at it all wrong.. Think of all the money the military contractors made...

Iraq was a hoax. They recorded the whole thing in studio. No way they could have done something that expensive. There even isn't Iraq. Trust me, I know this. I saw it on Youtube video.
