Original Playboy Pinball Machine - whats it worth?
I found a Playboy Pinball Machine from the 70's or 80's.

looks like an ok deal i would think.
|
Mark, the circa of it is 1978. Condition is fair but could use a bit of work. If he is willing to ship it, I would give him $2000 for it.
|
Here ya go MP. I used this thing you might not have heard of yet called "google" to find this for you:

Looks like it is a deal.
Congrats on your purchase, Mr. Prince. |

I'm a big pinball fan, and that's not a good game, IMHO, and it's only rated at #192 here: Top 300 Rated IPDB Pinball Machines
That same place rates Creature from the Black Lagoon--one of my favorite games--at #10, so I'd guess their ratings do reflect the quality of the games. |

Fun of 1st = 8.4 Fun of 192nd = 7.5 |
Spend half that on a Sybian. You'll use it more and your wife (and hopefully a friend or two of hers) will love you for it.

My fun factor in replying to your post is 5.3. |
From a fun perspective, I agree, it's a boring game and not surprised it got a low rating. For a pinball collector, it's a must have because it is an iconic piece and pinball machines appreciate in value so they make good investments assuming you have the space to store them and do proper maintenance on them.
If I wanted a fun pinball game to play, I would rather play the Simpsons pinball or The Kiss pinball games |
1) Buy It
2) Ship it to Vegas 3) Go On Pawn Stars 4) Ramble On For Hours About Electric Cars, Solar Panels, Etc... Until They Just Pay What Ya Want To Get Ya Outta The Shop 5) Profit :winkwink: |

That is why I only took that one number. Theoretially lets take: 1. Audio 9.5 playfield 9.5 Fun 8.5 2. Audio 7 playfield 7 Fun 9 Which one would you play? I think the core thing is to have fun, so if #2 is more fun who cares if #1 has better audio and playfield. Of course those numbers would not happen, but I just wanted to illustrate that only fun number is important as a conclusion of how good is the game and how great do you feel while playing. |

2) Ship it to Detroit 3) Go on Hardcore Pawn 4) Get their standard offer of 50 bucks, act out like all their customers do, scream 'racists' at them 5) Get thrown out |

shit, now i need to grab a machine... |
I owned pinballs before, after a few months, you get tired of playing the same old shit! Then there's the repair factor:2 cents: :winkwink:
|
Current brand new ones cost 5-7k?
If so - 2.5k is not so much of a value for "colectible". |
omg, i loved this thing!
|
I love pinball - played that one at the PB mansion and at a bar a few times. Not the funnest pinball machine.
If your buying it for the Playboy mystique or a showpiece go for it. If yourbuying for fun there are many others that have much better game play. |
If you are a real Fan will be a great deal and the cash its not the big deal. If you are not, not.
|
Make sure its 100% working, or it could be expensive.
|
Used to love pinball. Could play all day for a quarter.
|
Sounds a bit expensive to me. :2 cents:
