Male Hairloss - At What Stage Should We Cut Our Losses?
At what stage of male pattern hair-loss is it better to go for the buzz-cut? How far in is it still a benefit to show off what we've got i.e. "Hey girls, I've still got this many hairs left!"

Not my issue. Fifty-two years old and still a 1 on the Norwood Scale. :)

I have a massive head - A buzz cut will never look good - I am a 3 vertex - I am at 50% though - I still have hair...

I have too much hair ...

I was looking in the mirror at the perfect angle with the right lighting the other day...and I could see some scalp. Panic moment.

I've been rocking the buzz for so long I have no idea where I fall on that scale. Not sure I care either.
The low buzz/5 o'clock shadow head is very liberating. |
I am a 2 since I was 20 I guess.
If it ever changes to the worse, I will shave it off. I prefer my hair short like 5mm or something anyway. |
Grandfather died #1, fingers crossed.

It looks like a lawn aerator. How does that work? |

I shave my head and my balls every other day

so is there a connection between drinking and going bald?

Luckily for me I've got a nicely shaped noggin. I started losing it at 19, but growing up in Florida I always rocked a buzz cut. So I just started shaving to my skin. It's never been an issue as far as women, but also having a giant fucking beard helps too.

There are only 2 options if you want to fight hairloss: -a drug called finasteride... (i'm sure you know what it is as you post like someone who studied medicine). With all side-affects... it's not even really a serious option... -hairtransplantation: they take a part of a hair follicle from your own donorarea (place on your head where always will grow hair...); they put that part of a hair follicle back into a little made hole (where you want your hair back). Where they took part of a hair follicle it will grow back (most of the times) into a normal hair, and a new hair is created/cloned. They can take up to about 1800 hair follicles per session from your donorarea. These new placed hairs are from the area (donorarea) where hair is not vulnerable to the hormon dihydrotestosteron... which is the cause of hairloss. These "clones" will remain growing and will not fall out because they are from the donorarea and were never vulnerable to the hormon dihydrotestosteron. It takes about a year before you can take another 1800 follicles in a session. You can repeat endlessly... The only downside is: a session of 1800 follicles costs around 8000-10.000 euro. |

Should i post 100 links to "studies" where you can find the best shampoos that will restore your hairloss? All people involved in that study also used Minoxidil... the people who used the dermaroller together with Minoxidil "showed little bit more hairgrow" then people who only used Minoxidil... So you are willing to use the dermaroller in combination with Minoxidil? Minoxidil is allready busted.... it will never give you back a full head of hair. There is a difference between getting some "babyhairs".... and getting back your normal hairline and stop further hairloss. This is a clear case of: i have hairloss... i have a "problem". Hey... someone says a dermaroller works. Let's buy it... if it doesn't work i at least tried it. End result: some scammer is making bank of desperate people wanting hair. I don't understand how you missed the conspiricy here... |

"The mean change in hair count at week 12 was significantly greater for the Microneedling group compared to the Minoxidil group (91.4 vs. 22.2 respectively, P = 0.039)" |
I'm not going bald.
My head is just getting bigger. |

I know that Minox is almost useless, also yes proper hair transplant is the best thing available.
If someone was in the early stages, the rolling would be the best thing to go for. If you've already lost loads then it's hardly worth it Quote:

once you start losing it at the top, it's time to cut it off or shave it off
|
I fight to the bitter end.

In this pic the look is fine... I would keep it like that rather then shave it bold... but i also would not grow it longer... |
