Need example of paysite tours that convert for you
I am about to get some new tours set up for some of my paysites and I need examples of paysite tours that convert well for affiliates.
A year or so ago the blog style tour with select promo content seemed to be standard, now everyone seems to be using fake-tube style tours and either displaying or emulating transparent tours where nearly all site content is represented, just doesn't play unless you are logged in. What's converting for you? (links appreciated) |
The problem is, what works for one guy may not work for another. Time and again people copy each other and then find that for some reason they don't have the success that the other people do with it.
Why? Because every source of traffic is different. Look at ClubSeventeen.com. Great site design and I hear it does really well for them ... but I know a guy who tried to copy it and had horrible results. He couldn't get it to convert for shit. |
In my experience, the PRE-SELL is almost more important than the tour itself. Look at Met-Art. That site is so dated looking. It almost looks like it was abandoned in 2004.
But they make sales based on reputation, killer content... e.g. the Pre-sell. In other words... the art of the sell is to make the guy want to join before he even gets to the tour. The real problem with your question is what Kelli58 said. A successful Babes.com tour is going to look A LOT different than a successful BlackTranniesFromHell.com tour. |

So... this: transparent tours where nearly all site content is represented But i wouldn't call it a tour... it's just the site itself... If you got the content.... show it... A text on a tour saying "updated blabla times a week; so much blahblah content inside..." without showing it, is weakness and a first alarm indication for me to stay away.... |
There is no magical Tour that will work for everyone. Sorry.
What kind of traffic do you get mostly? What's your content? The design itself has to accomplish one thing and one thing only: get them to the Join page/process ASAP. You want them to linger on the Tour....but not to LINGER on the Tour (or they will whack off instead of joining). It's a tricky balance. A-B testing is your friend and so are reasonable expectations (a 1:1000 conversion ratio to start). Also, once a site 'reaches its level' don't waste time or resources chasing that extra 10-15%. Best of luck. :) |

Anyone else trying to push a tour like his would no doubt find it an epic failure. |
Thanks everyone for the excellent feedback.
We have sales now and the few affiliates pushing traffic are doing a good job pre-selling and making their own promo tools. My goal with the tour is to catch the few people that wander in from SE traffic and also show potential new affiliates that we are serious about converting their traffic. So yes, I hear you when you say pre-sell, tours based on traffic source, etc. this would be a general first impression for everyone else. To be more detailed, I am using Mech Bunny right now for members area, just with all the playback locked down for logged in users only, and to log in they need an active subscription. So the transparent tour is there, I just want a separate place to host a sales pitch and some promo content to drive traffic to the member's tube. I have already decided I'll be using MechBunny for the tour, where I will publish only promo content. I also regularly purchase filler content from bulk offers from various producers here like Naughty Rob, Fitzmulti and others to pad the site with a lot of content and give members plenty of stuff to pound it to. But now I am doing custom shoots of exclusive content and mainly wanted a way to highlight that for potential new members who haven't already been referred by someone doing maybe a better job of promo-ing than I could. The real question is whether to use a blog style tour to announce new additions on a fairly selective basis, or to do more of a tube style tour with gobs of content like some of these fake tube tours. The reason I'm not just using the site itself as the tour is because I've tried that and it didn't seem to work very well. I want to make the members area more utilitarian so it's uncluttered with promo text and calls to action and just make it as hassle free and easy to nav with one hand for 'baters. It seems easier to me to keep all the sales pitches in one spot and the jerking in another. If there are sales pitches in the members area they will be for upsells and other add-ons. Maybe that's wrong, but it's my current thinking. |
