terminator genisys storyline question... Spoilers!
went to see the new terminator and i really enjoyed this movie.
Here comes the spoiler part.... Normally i can ignore plot holes in entertaining movies, when everyone else seems to whine about them too much. But this one stayed in my head for a while during the movie... Sarah and kyle don't have sex in 1984. Then they travel to 2017 and john connor is also there... How can he exist when they haven't had sex? He was never born... This was very distracting and i wasn't really able to ignore this during the movie. |
Usually somebody enters the movie theatre and starts shooting everybody to divert the audience from such plot holes ...

Transformed John Connor goes to past and starts creating Skynet (helping that black dude) so that Skynet can make him and other robots. Skynet needs to be created so he can even exist and go to past and help create Skynet. This is an example of grandfather paradox.

I watched it twice

Why did at the end Reese told kid Reese to remember "genisys is skynet"? Does that mean that Skynet is forever and the cycle of Reese growing up and traveling time, fighting skynet is perpetual? Like this kid Reese will grow up, travel time, fight skynet, tell the same thing to another kid Reese and it will repeat forever?

I actually enjoyed this one, but I gave up on figuring out all the weird cross time travel stuff a while back. Terminator has always been built on this weird time paradox thing with the lead humans.
