Domain Help Required - Techs Jump In

Ok, of our domain has been banned in India due to recent blanket ban placed by Indian goverment. I cant mentioned that else it will comes up in spam so its http:// desipapa .com

The domain can be accessed by http:// desipapa. com Ban has been placed on http:// www.desipapa. com but not on http:// desipapa.com

Now if we move from http to https will it make any difference? Will it help in un banning the site. Can any one please give some good advice so can implement ssl on domain to get it working again.

Colmike9 08-08-2015 12:13 PM

I thought India decided not to do that ban. Edit: nvm, ABC isn't porn.. :upsidedow

It depends on how they ban sites over there. It looks like they just lazily did www. and not the naked domains. Might work, might not..

AdultKing 08-08-2015 12:14 PM

It depends upon how they are blocking the domain.

We don't know how they are doing it, so it's impossible to say whether moving to https will help, however you should be moving to https anyway as it's now a minor ranking factor from Google.

Based upon what I know about the Indian blocking, I don't believe moving to https will help.

freecartoonporn 08-08-2015 12:53 PM

india lifted ban. already.

The ban criteria were changed but some of the ban intent is still in place.

Can you not redirect indian IP's to another sub-domain or to another domain completely? You shouldn't lose your Google rankings in India but there is a risk.

247mg 08-08-2015 01:23 PM

The ban is still in place. Every single site which was on that ban list still cant accessed by Indians on,

Airtel
Reliance
Tata
Vodafone India

The above are big internet providers in India and sites like xvideos, pornhub, desipapa, indianpornvideos, redtube etc all blocked and still unaccessible.

Adraco 08-08-2015 01:28 PM

I do not see how https would help you, since that is just which protocol is being used for the file transfer/connection.

Depends on whether the ban is sophisticated enough to block SSL/TLS connections.

I've seen site blocking in Thailand where secure site versions of sites still worked when non secure versions didn't.

The ban placed by government is just a type in ban on domain DesiPapa, Indian Sex, Indian Babes, Asian Sex, Indian Porn all other variants of domain are accessible only http://www version is not

I think its worth a try and a risk of only few bucks to install ssl......

2 different computers using different DNS lookup hosts get different IPs there should be only 1 IP for a FQDN domain everywhere.

Also, India ISPs might take a few days to update records -- the DNS servers I used are google.com and att.net

freecartoonporn 08-08-2015 07:38 PM

in that case , you could try other subdomains, or even without subdomain.

you can try cloudflare ssl , its free ,then later ou can decide whether you want to stick to https or not.
