Fellow Multimillionaires: What are you doing to protect your assets from socialists & liberals?
 

There has been a lot of grumbling about the increasing gap between rich & poor. And let's face it, that trend will likely continue.

At some point in the next 30 years, there could be a leftist revolution in America, where liberals just start grabbing shit, or taxing stuff into oblivion, to redistribute wealth to the unwashed dindonuffin masses.

What are you doing to protect your assets from such a scenario?

The gap was higher in 2000 then it is now. I think we have a ways to go before anyone leaves their big screen to riot in the streets.

Eliminate the minimum wage.

Implement tort reform (no more lawsuits over sex discrimination, race discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, etc).

Reduce corporate taxes.

Repeal Obamacare.

And watch the jobs come back to America.

Funny how some countries only know solidarity on the moment they are about to send fellow nationals into war to die...

The ownership to assets is given and reinforced by the society. The only options are pretty much you and or the assets to leave the particular society/ societies.

Keeping that in mind; in democracies there really can't be huge inequalities for long time, at least if it isn't supported by the people. I won't get into the issue US not being democracy in the way it is perceived, but at least it lessens the like hood of your scenario.

Slaves used to have plenty of work too back in the day, we could just bring that back instead... Oh wait then the employers would have to feed and clothe them :(

After civil war in my country ("reds vs whites") leading to "white" victory; the many issues causing the civil war were corrected. Basically lease farmers were given by law the option to buy the land for themselves, the position of workers got better, etc. It was quite success because about 20 years later the same "reds" fought against Soviet Union (20 years before they wanted to join into it). In general socialist parties played quite big part. You know; they were socialists, but not communist type of socialists. The socialists actually clashed with communists (inside country).

In US people seem to support the idea of "get rich by do-it-yourself" as a explanation for big inequalities, but this will only work as long as it is somewhat feasible option/ just having the option is enough (without materialization).

In North America there are just two kind of people, the Rich, and the Rich on the making, everybody thinks they will be reach, and spend like such.
