Paysite Owners - What Would You Do With An All Star Staff for 1 Month?

What would you do if you had an All Star Staff (i.e. business consultants, programmers, designers, marketers, sales reps, etc) at your disposal for 1 Month?

Here are a few examples of what this team can provide you:
Full Business Analysis
Business Plan
Marketing Plan
Ad Campaigns
Programming services (CMS, Affiliate program etc)
Traffic consulting and planning
Design (tour, sales tools, members area)
Content review and consulting

Basically anything you can think of they can help with. You have only one month with them.
What would you want them to accomplish in that one month listed in order of importance?

Adraco 08-20-2015 10:31 AM

If I had a paysite or a program, I would ask the All Star Staff to drum up a new site, preferrably with existing content, and then come up with a marketing strategy and tools for it.

Then then they were gone, I would compare how much better "their" site did in comparison to my own, previously produced one.

From that, i would hopefully be able to learn how to do better with my current sites and then go from there.

Relentless 08-20-2015 10:36 AM

In Month one... I'd lobby to be included among that group, providing Text, SEO and other relevant services to help the rest of the All Star team to exceed client expectations ;)

Interesting approach. I like that.

that business is dead. move on

Markul 08-20-2015 10:58 AM

I'd focus on these areas and in this order:

I have some pressing development that would need to be done. Seeing how they would be super rock stars, I presume that they could do everything I wanted in a month (lol). I have almost a hundred pages of technical briefs and wireframes ready to go. Too much to do, too few hands.

At the same time, we'd get the infrastructure setup to secure that we are ready for the next step:

Design a killer marketing plan, build it and execute.

That's about as detailed as I'll get on a public forum :pimp Fun topic though :thumbsup

Have them focus on a marketing and traffic generation plan that will outlast their month of work

Well, if we're talking a one month timeframe the only thing a team (even a superstar one) could reasonably accomplish would be consultation, analysis and plans of action (marketing, traffic, etc). A month isn't really enough time to POOF magically generate more revenue.

BUT if we're talking actual, real, finished work I would ask them to do this (we're talking paysite owners here, right?):

1. Help me setup the infrastructure for a self-sustaining, traffic-generating website to help feed/grow the existing paysites. This could be a tube, a TGP/MGP, link list, review site or something else.

2. Take my best 2 sites, spend 1-2 weeks on each, and re-design them so we can A-B test the results off proven winners.

3. Analyze and report on the best place to spend $ on media buys and traffic buys. Help me whittle down the media buy learning curve.

4. Go over my Google account and help tweak Adword campaigns. This would include going over my paysites and tweaking the SEO.

5. In that month, contact every existing affiliate to see if there's any help they need or anyway we can get them to send more traffic.

6. Help sort out any billing issues and find new billing options that might help capture any Joins lost.

7. In that month, write, edit and send out compelling emails to past Members. Find a mailing solution and template that WORKS.

8. Help me beef up the Members Areas. Add features, retool navigation, and focus on upsells and doing a better job of displaying them.

9. Help me automate anything and everything possible.

Those would be my top things to focus on because I think most of these are achieveable in a month. At least it would be a great start. :)

I would let them do deep investigations and make calculations of what this All Star Staff could do in one month and what impact it would have on the growth of the business if this work would be executed. If they present the data to me after one month i could see and make a decission if it would be doable (roi-wise) to hire them for a month....

The bigger question is; if you had a talented team like that, why would would you apply that kind of talent to this industry, when there's obviously other avenues and verticals that make more sense?

Unless of course, everyone on the team is from this industry and came together to form a powerhouse of talent.

Fair point :thumbsup

Relic 08-21-2015 03:33 PM

The skill level of the programmer Shap, is the critical factor, because it determines what is produced, and how easily it gets brought to market.

GregE 08-21-2015 03:58 PM

Great presentation. You certainly haven't lost your touch.

Eight years ago I'd have jumped on this offer like a fly on shit (assuming of course that a solo site like mine would even interest you).

Sadly, nowadays my existing costs consume all but enough to keep things sputtering along as is.

Nonetheless... I can see that Shap is back :thumbsup

Robbie 08-21-2015 04:39 PM

I would probably ask them why they are there. It's a porn site. Too many chefs in the kitchen having a staff like that.

Exactly. Having that team on a porn paysite would be like having a Ferrari engine on a go-kart.

PAR 08-21-2015 05:09 PM

1 month is really not long in terms of starting and finishing something "New"
So I assume this would be more beneficial to something that is already live.

- Programming services (CMS, Affiliate program etc) - well the other people in the team are looking at the company/sites etc. programmer could be knocking off tasks

- Design (tour, sales tools, members area) - same goes for the designer,

- Full Business Analysis - finding money that is being left on the table, and reduction of expenses and Taxes

Once you find the money, and lower run costs you can then look at making changes to increase the overall business, and ROI.

- Business Plan -
- Traffic consulting and planning -
- Marketing Plan -
- Ad Campaigns -
- Content review and consulting -

first i would shoot 3 or 4 scenes of nude & non-nude erotics aerobics content. it would use modern camera & good slow motion cause bouncing bosoms in the slow motion are a great shot. great locations like exercise videos with nice scenery in outdoor setting.

then i would test the content to see if it creates buzz in the tube world. at the same time i have a guy generating keywords to target for target big boob traffic for boob bouncing, & teen content for pilates yoga type stuff.

if the new content has potential according to my marketing expert, then get a programmer to rebuild the whole site, affiliate program, payment page, tours, member area, everything. install a CMS, do it right. get a money guy, cause i need a backer.

re-launch my site with new everything, except this time i have a marketing program & follow through & update & track stuff. Consultants would help me decide who else i need & what i need to know to keep the network growing. I would learn whatever programming, photography, everything i need to learn to be a self employed webmaster.

a good thing about softcore aerobics is i can shoot a lot of nonnude & push teasers all over the place where vanilla porn might be banned. recent someone here was looking for aerobics program. its got potential to sell with the right models, the right look, the right people running it. its something new off same old sex.

If it succeeds, i can update the network on the beach with my laptop, reading emails of girls interested in getting naked & exercising for me, while i edit clips to upload for marketing. & everyone in the world knows im the naked aerobics millionaire, cause i got kate upton to run across the beach in a joshgirls T.

dreams...:winkwink:

Possbly. But if you are a master at building go karts you may be out of your like trying to build a ferrari engine :)

It's all a hypothetical question anyhow. Another way to look at it is if you could snap your fingers and get 3 things done for your website what would they be :)

The only 3 things that matter:

1. Re-designs
2. A-B testing of those new designs
3. Traffic

That's very hard for me to answer. I have already jumped on everything that I could possibly think of. If I hadn't already done that I wouldn't even consider myself a professional.

So to answer that hypothetical would require a new set of eyes from someone that I trusted had experience in the big tit niche who could point me at 3 things that I somehow haven't already thought of.

And that does happen every once in a while when I am talking with someone who throws something that's out of the box to me and my lightbulb goes off and I go to work on it.

So you are saying at this moment you are at a point where your business is as efficient and as profitable and successful as is humanly possible?

No, I'm saying that at this point...with all the expertise, knowledge, and experience I bring to the table (a virtual 20 years of "A/B" testing by trial and error)...that I do everything that there is humanly possible that I am AWARE of.

And when I speak to people that I respect and trust in my niche I sometimes am exposed to an "out of the box" idea that I had not thought of before.
And when that happens I jump right on it.

Matter of fact that just happened down in Miami on August 1st when I had dinner with a person whom is an expert in big tits and they told me something that got me excited and the day my plane landed back in Vegas I went to work on it immediately and started making more money with that idea.

As you very well know, the longer you do something the more infrequent it becomes that you find anyone who knows something that you haven't already either tried and incorporated or tried and discarded.

Can I just have a magic wand and make piracy disappear instead? :1orglaugh

I'd just take the consultant and marketeer and go over our top sites and figure out what it is we're doing good what can be done better and what is missing. Than work on a game plan to execute it and take me to that next level.

I'd not care about how long I've been doing this and if they are in my type of niche. A fresh pair of brains is always a plus to talk with and welcome in my office.

The rest can stay home.

Not really when you consider all we do.

We have a whole building that once was filled with porners. Now we have the complete top floor and the rest is rented out.

Robbie 08-22-2015 11:54 AM

Isn't that your job already Roald?
You should have already been on top of your game. If a talented yet random consultant can walk in and you don't already pretty much know most of the things he's telling you...then you need to up your game. Otherwise what are you being paid for?

Not saying "you" personally. But anyone that is employed in your position.

I thought you ARE the expert that Payserve hired in because of your experience and knowledge.
And I bet that you ARE on top of it and that it is rare that someone presents you with something you haven't already tried. And I also bet that on the occassions that someone does bring something to the table you hadn't seen before, you jump on it and do indeed execute it and take it up a notch.

So yeah, you're experience does matter or you wouldn't have a job.

Of course but I'd never feel to good to go over anything I do with someone and look at it with a microscope.

Just saying that I value good brains wether it be in my niche or not doesn't matter.

I tend to disagree with you on this. No matter how much of a bad ass you may be in a niche or site when you are involved in it some times you can miss the simplest things. It's not about not being on top of his game. It's about being willing to expand and grow at all times.

I think the approach and mindset Roald has leads to far greater success than the approach where you think you are doing it all already. No much room for improvement when you are god 2.0 :winkwink:

I'm not disagreeing with what Roald said.

Matter of fact I pretty plainly typed that I seek out stuff and occasionally I find it and use it.

I never miss a chance to sit under the learning tree. That's how I learned the things I do know. I merely said that as time goes by and you spend years and years doing something it gets harder and harder to come across "new" ideas.

If you guys disagree on that then so be it. Don't have to be a "bad ass" or a "God" to be an expert at what you do. I thought that was the basic criteria to even be doing what we do?

I just don't think I'd bring in a super talented consultant who had no idea of my niche. Now IF the person was someone that I personally respected and had a proven track record...then hell yes I want to pick his brain (and I'm sure he would want to pick mine too) to discover if there is anything that was "out of the box" from my perspective.

The Porn Nerd 08-22-2015 01:23 PM

What Robbie is saying is true. Running paysites is not an eternal mystery. But I think what is sometimes effective is not necessarily implementing a "new" idea but rather re-visitng things you may have tried along the way that didn't work out for you.

Times change, the Internet has changed, the entire landscape of porn has changed in just a few years. Maybe re-visitng past A-B tests and trying things again is a way to go. What once didn't work may indeed work now. :)
