Need help for choose a dedicated server

I am thinking to get a dedicated server for my sites.I have found a one from Portal Home - HostBlast.Net

HB-Intel-2G -

Processor: Celeron/Atom 1.6+ GHz

RAM: 2 GB DDR2-RAM

Disk: 200 GB SATA II-HDD

OS:Cent OS, Debian, Scientific Linux, Ubuntu (Free), Windows ( Not compatible)

Traffic: Unlimited traffic

IP: One main IP Free, No additional IP

Monthly 20$ .

Is this good for use ? I am thinking to host videos on this server.

i can tell you that it will never be a good server or good connection No one can make a good server for video hosting for just 20 bucks. Go with a vps and it will perform much better.

That is right, you need bigger budget if you want host videos.

The deal seems to be good but as mentioned above not good for video hosting, I think you rather need some CDN solution, if you want to start some porn tube
...unless you are not planning to have lots of videos and traffic.

well the biggest point is going to be the speed that you can serve videos. CDN's are often costing you a fortune. We have lots of clients on our server who use it to stream videos from. With our 1gbps connection you can serve a lot of videos. Also we can make special deals on bandwidth which is often the part that is driving the price up quickly.

I tend to stay away from all hosts offering unlimited traffic as it's just BS.

Yup, you need to know your montly bandwidth. Especially if you want to host videos. And you need to know what happens if you serve more data than is your monthly bandwidth limit. You could be surprised then.

Check out wholesaleinternet.net, datashack, dacentec, etc if you just need a budget dedicated but keep in mind those are all unmanaged so you need to know what you're doing.

2GB is also quite low to be honest. It also depends on the speed. Will you be getting 100mbps - 1gbps guaranteed? If so, just upgrade the RAM to 8GB and you're good to go.

There's no such thing as "unlimited" traffic. I stay away from hosts offering unlimited storage or bandwidth. Often what you'll get is "unlimited" headaches and downtime.

You've got a good point, but what is meant with unlimited is that it's unmetered, while there is a cap placed on mbps. As long as a hosting provider doesn't oversell and manages their server well, this shouldn't be a problem.

As a lot of guys said be careful with hosting provider who offers you unlimited traffic for only $20/mo. If you're not sure you can choose a lower server's specifications with possibility to upgrade your hosting to more powerful when your traffic will grow.
