We used to rent part of our building to a Chinese restaurant for around $1.60/sqf...

Relentless 08-24-2015 10:34 AM

In NYC it's not just the cost of the space. Any place that sells a quart of milk within 5 city blocks of that location charges $10.00 for it... You pay for the place AND your cost of living goes up 5000%

Still, not bad for a guy who kicks a ball for a living.

Your is in the house not in prime downtown location. Nothing fancy to have bigger bedroom than this in some house somewhere.

VikingMan 08-24-2015 10:35 AM

One of those pics looks like the inside of a hotel room. The designer or whoever made those looks should be shot. First pic is OK.

It's really ugly inside, for that money he could have got something more modern in a nicer, newer tower.

Looks like the interior of any random grandma. Or any person in the UK.

Terrible design. Amazing views.

Milfer 08-24-2015 11:31 AM

I don't get it, why would you spend that money on buying things instead of travelling around the world in private jets and experiencing different luxurious hotels

Because he can do both?
Because he will play in NY in MLS?
Because it is nice to have a "home" as opposed to only living in hotels (it gets tiresome)?
Because he considers that investment?
Because he wants to flash?
Because...?
Because..?

Not everybody thinks exactly like you :)

Nope.
230 sq. m for 1 million and location for 17,5 million :winkwink:

Google Expert 08-24-2015 12:06 PM

Not digging that retro style.

PiracyPitbull 08-24-2015 12:29 PM

Pretty bad taste, especially the living room area.

A similar looking couch could be found in the average suburb basement and the artwork is straight out of a dentists office.

2MuchMark 08-24-2015 12:31 PM

Trump Towers is not in a "prime downtown location".

Sly 08-24-2015 12:40 PM

I saw the pictures earlier and was desperately hoping that they were from the 80s.

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh nice troll.

5th ave across the street from central park is a prime location, while technically being midtown.

belonged to Trump's partner, in Trump Tower, Ronaldo probably didn't pay that much. The publicity of one of the biggest sports stars spending an obscene amount of money on the apartment doesn't hurt business.

good point, and i'm thinking the furniture and such in those rendered pics wasn't part of the deal.

So you "fixed" me on technicality of it being midtown and not downtown as if that was of any, even slightest, relevance to what I meant by that post?

Congrats ...

He is in the showy athlete celeb building. The real money has apartments that run a full city block in the Hotel Carlyle and elsewhere throughout Manhattan. :2 cents:

SekobA 08-24-2015 02:10 PM

That looks very cool

clickity click 08-24-2015 02:39 PM

I don't like one single thing about that apartment. Well escort maybe the view but that's it.

He just signed a contract for 5 years that will pay him just over $200 million. That doesn't count the millions in endorsements he gets.

I think he can afford to do both.

Yeah, I get that. It's the view.

But I'm sorry, I would much rather have a larger house with bigger rooms than have a view.

Alright maybe someone can help explain this all to me... what the fuck is with the prices in New York? I can readily admit I personally don't like city life but then again, I don't get what is there to like? Overcrowded, overpriced, shitty weather, noise pollution, crime, total rat race everywhere, the whole place smells like urine since the sewer system runs under the city. People living on top of each other like chicken coups, but oh hey, they can proudly declare 'I live in new york' like anyone gives a fuck. Okay so there are plenty of nice restaurants and museums and 'culture'... whatever, just go visit then. If you're not working on Wall Street or somewhere in NY that requires you to be there, why the fuck would you live there?

Now on to the real estate... that condo there is one tiny ugly shithole, and 18.5 million USD? GTFO. It's 230 square meters for heaven's sake... Any idea what kind of palatial mansion someone can buy in Miami or even Southern California which are HIGHLY desireable places to live, and we're talking 10 months or more of sunshine, not overcrowded (for certain parts), close to the beach and reasonable cost of living. We're talking circular driveway, fountains, high ceilings, view of the water, minimum 1000 square meters of house. That bedroom picture is taken at an angle to make it look more spacious then it is, that looks like a fuckin closet. 18.5 million dollars, and I'm not knocking Ronaldo since that whole city is full of overpriced, tiny little shitholes I wouldn't spend a week in.

I guess it's all relative.

Poppy 08-25-2015 07:35 AM

Not impressed at all w/ that place, based on the pics. Great view though.
