I just took out the rubbish and there was a HUGE snake!..

OK - It wasn't huge - But it looked angry - I'm never taking rubbish out again.....

Where you live? Australia?

I am in Spain ATM...

I Googled it and I think it was an Adder - Not fatal but not nice.....

Shovel will solve that problem very quickly.

I once almost stepped on one, I mean literally. It is now as a stuffed in my living room. Though not the last one I have encountered, but one stuffed adder is enough. The rest have slithered away. I have also eaten adder (not killed by me). It is legal in here to kill adders, but of course you don't have to.

i almost stepped on horned viper a month or so ago otherwise i saw plenty of snakes this summer, all harmless except for that one
