Total War in Yemen Totally Ignored by Western Media
With almost a whimper, the Western media reported that the US-backed regimes of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and their auxiliary fighters drawn from Al Qaeda have begun carrying out what is the ground invasion of Yemen. Along with an ongoing naval blockade and months of bombing raids, the ground invasion adds a lethal new dimension to the conflict ? for both sides. Landing at the port city of Aden on Yemen?s southern tip, it is reported that an ?armor brigade? consisting of between 1,000 ? 3,000 troops primarily from the UAE are now moving north, their ultimate destination Sana?a, the capital of Yemen. Columns of the UAE?s French-built Leclerc main battle tanks were seen moving out of the port city though their numbers are difficult to establish. Reports claiming that the UAE unit is brigade-sized might indicate as many as 100 tanks involved ? a third of the UAE?s total armored force. The bold move comes after months of frustrating failures for the two Arabian regimes. Their Yemeni proxies ? loyalists of the ousted president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi ? have proven all but useless in fighting Houthi fighters across most of Yemen despite air superiority provided to them by their Arabian allies. And while it appears the well-equipped Arab forces are able to concentrate firepower, overwhelming Houthi fighters in pitched battles, the ability for Saudi, UAE, and Al Qaeda forces to actually hold territory they move through is questionable at best. The main problem of Yemen is the barbaric regime of Saudi Arabia.

When was Yemen not at war?

If the Western Media had to report on a every stink shit 3rd world country that had some type of conflict over goats and land, that's all that would be on the television.
I'll tell you why they aren't reporting it 1.) Because nobody gives a fuck 2.) Highschool football starts tonight in most US cities. 3.) As far as anybody educated is concerned, everybody has seen this show before. Let them kill each other. Less for Americans to have to kill eventually. Incase you hadn't noticed, you don't exactly see Yemen commercials on TV. Come to Yemen, the Joshua Tree of the Arabias...learn how to pick garabage heaps for your food. Take your wife to one of our re-education camps where she will learn to cook with dates and bow at your feet. |
Or because its a US proxy/CIA war with some embarrassing participants for the US, e.g., Al Qaeda.

That may even be true, but that doesn't have to be the reason why the "Western Media" isn't broadcasting on it. Not giving a fuck about something that most Americans would find irrelevant........ and ignoring it for broadcast on purpose....are two different things.
People want to know who got killed in their neighborhood, how much gas is this week, what the local sports scores are, and if its going to rain. Thats why its called local and national news... If you want to hear about shit happening in 3rd world countries....watch BBC International.... |
They tend to report stuff about Third World nations who have lots of oil :2 cents:

but anyways....to totally counter your arguement....how many articles do you need that its being reported on?

So fucking what? Something has to be at the top and in the middle and on the bottom. That's called ordering. It's a mathematical principle.
Everybody acts like the media has to answer to them and report on what they want and give it a certain level attention they want.. You want that. Buy a media company and tell your editor what to put on the front page at the top. |

There is some independent media but it tends to be extremist or biassed toward one idea. Some governments directly fund their media as a propaganda tool -- been that way since I can remember. But Yemen was last month's ''crisis'' headline story -- yesterday's news. |
Great we will get even more of them coming over here in the next 6 months.
