Favorite Netflix series?

They have been pumping shows out so fast lately that I can't keep up.

My favorites:
House of Cards (first season was amazing, each season after has really dropped)
Daredevil (a bit slow, but once into it, fantastic)
Orange is the New Black (same as House of Cards, most recent season not worth watching)
Sense 8 (Nomi was ridiculously obnoxious, otherwise quite intriguing, gets great towards the end)

Take it or leave it:
Arrested Development (a bit disappointing, though not sure what to expect after a 10 year hiatus)

Need to watch yet:
Bloodline (I really like Kyle Chandler)
Marco Polo (tried it but got bored a few episodes in, need to give it another shot)

Recommendations? Besides Narcos.

j3rkules 08-29-2015 03:28 PM

Did you ever watch Twin Peaks? It is one of the best TV Shows ever.

ReggieDurango 08-29-2015 03:28 PM

Why besides Narcos? Watching the first ep right now actually

Worded funny. I know about that one, looking for other suggestions.

mineistaken 08-29-2015 03:41 PM

house of cards
narcos

top quality ^

*********************
orange is the new

one shelf lower, show "for everyone" - has soap opera elements etc. Good show.

********************

sense8 - ok, not my cup of tea that much.

*************

marco polo - not up to decent standards, maybe nice for kids, but not for tv series fan. Not worth it. Basic.

Those are the only ones I watched.

Will look into bloodline and daredevil.

ReggieDurango 08-29-2015 03:50 PM

Bloodline takes a little bit to get into but it is pretty cool. Speaking of Kyle Chandler, though not an original Netflix series, but Friday Night Lights is one the best TV shows EVER and I believe you can watch it all on Netflix.

mineistaken 08-29-2015 03:52 PM

Besides those that are mentioned in this thread - there is almost nothing else worth mentioning (just checked their whole list).

I'm not really into the slower dramas like that but I watched Friday Night Lights every week. Great show.

Rochard 08-29-2015 04:10 PM

House Of Cards is still my favorite. I've been watching Narcos today. Daredevil is good, Orange is the New Black bored me to tears.

TwinCities 08-29-2015 04:27 PM

I see Bloodline on your need to watch list. It was fantastic and something for you to look forward to.

lagwagon 08-29-2015 05:05 PM

One not mentioned that I did enjoy was Hemlock Grove. The kid that plays Roman is badass.

Just remembered another one that is pretty funny.

ErectMedia 08-29-2015 06:05 PM

I'd have to pull up my history but know I've watched all of these...

House of Cards
Orange is the New Black
LilyHammer
Wentworth

Narcos will be next on my list.

Wentworth

Austraila based and more hardcore than orange is the new black in terms of fighting/murder and lesbianism, opening of the first episode will confirm the lesbianism :1orglaugh

This does not seem to be netflix as well.

OP is talking about netflix original series (shows made by netflix), not shows that can be found on netflix.

I was let down by Marco Polo, but to me Bloodline is one of the best things Netflix has done. Kyle Chandler is a amazing (as is the entire cast), but Ben Mendelsohn who plays his misfit brother should win an Golden Globe for his performance.

Axeman 08-29-2015 09:04 PM

Wet Hot American Summer. Not for everyone, but I love that humor. 2nd half of the episodes gets really great.

It's actually a show? I figured it was just the movie!

Netflix did a prequal season this summer called "First Day of Camp". The movie was the last day. The show is 15 years later and is the first day of that summer.

AdultKing 08-29-2015 09:22 PM

Lilyhammer, House of Cards both amazing shows with amazing production values.

Derek which was a Netflix/Gervais joint venture is very good too. Quite an original show. Sad and Funny at the same time.

baddog 08-29-2015 09:43 PM

This thread has confirmed my thoughts that Netflix does not market their exclusive material well enough. It's very hard to even find their material unless you know what you are looking for. Several of the responses in this thread are not about Netflix Originals at all.

Posted it because it trumps a similar Netflix original in my opinion. :2 cents:
Hot lesbianism also trumps OP's original request. :1orglaugh

Of all the ones not listed:

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

No one mentioned The Killing or Trailer Park Boys

Two shows that Netflix picked up and brought back from the dead.

The Killing is a great show, from start to finished. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this one.

The Trailer Park Boys is probably the best thing to ever come out of Canada for Television after Stargate.

The killing is top notch :thumbsup

Most likely nobody mentioned it because it was not netflix show and they picked up after 3 seasons for the 4th half season. So in peoples minds it is not associated with netflix original series at all :)

This was the best, but don't know if it's coming back.
