latest poll: stunning turn for Trump.
In May, when the Register last polled, 27 percent of likely Iowa GOP caucus-goers viewed Trump favorably while 63 percent regarded him unfavorably. In the new poll, which was released Saturday night, Trump's favorable number is at 61 percent and his unfavorable at 35 percent.

the epically funny part of that story/poll is it came from the fucking des moines register, who vowed to not cover Trump because they exclaimed he is a joke.

Chavez said it Republican latinos are saying it just like the Donald. AT this point the field against Trump aint worth a shit. Might as well give him a shot. Worse that can happen is four more years of nothing. |

And not that much of leads, but has the most people who see him favorable. As in "do you see this candidate favorable" yes and no. Not as in - which ONE of the republicans you vote for. Having said that - it is still nice to hear that not all of them are sheep who ate up liberral media bullshit about Trump being "raciss" |

I agree with his aims and agree that prices will rise. how many Americans will and how will it effect the poor, working class, lower middle class when the $ in their pocket buys less. |

Poor people don't buy what Donald Trump sells but they do buy the crap that Walmart gets from China and sells cheap. In the long shot that Trump is elected I will be selling Walmart and the other low-end retailers' stocks short :2 cents: |

It's just a barometer for the idiocy of the republican voting base. That is all.
And Trump actually is the best candidate they have. I listened to that Sarah Palin/ Donald Trump interview, and I like a couple of things he has to say about simplifying tax code, and getting the middle class out of the rut they're in. But that's only if I believe he believes what he's saying -- and I'm finding it hard to do that. |
I had lunch with two Republican friends on Friday, and they both liked the same four candidates: Trump, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, and Ted Cruz.

I read the thread title as 'stunning turd' so as you can imagine, I'm somewhat disappointed :(

The current polls have status quo career politicians quaking in their boots. They take these polls very seriously.

If Republicans don't vote for a black man, they are racist.
If Republicans do vote for a black man, it's not a real vote, because come on, they are racist. |

I am anticipating a national sales tax within the next 5 to 10 years to pay for social benefits, a national healthcare and toward deficit reduction. This might add 10% to 20% on the selling price of all goods. Combine that with wage demands and lower cost goods importation restrictions: the USA will become a much poorer nation with consumption taxes hitting the lower and middle classes hardest. Conversely, if we over tax capital gain to pay for social benefits, a national healthcare and toward deficit reduction: Investments and Venture Capital would be much harder to find. We are between a rock and a hard spot and no candidate (so far) is addressing the real economic issues and a few are uttering total populist bullshit -- that I for one am not buying. |

I see the forest not the trees -- the writing is on the wall. The politicians will not talk taxes until after the election -- plan ahead -- even if I am wrong I will have a plan B ready at hand. |

With almost 20% of US income not being reported a national sales tax really is needed. |

more importantly, a national tax doesn't really have anything to do with markham's assertion that a wage increase leads to a price increase such that wage earners would be in a worse position than before. |

The only way to really tax people working off the books is to tax what they spend. Since this is a growing part of our economy, some say 2 trillion, something needs done. And a lot of these people receive benefits then earn unreported income, double-fucking taxpayers. |
Prediction - the new wave of attacks against Trump will be that white supremacists support him.

And just think....before 1913 there wasn't an income tax. It was unconstitutional.
So Congress simply put in the 16th amendment and made it constitutional. :( |

That is probably the plan -- the taxman will always be there. The real question is what will be taxed? If it is just consumer goods consumption such a tax would be regressive. If real estate as well as other securities and intangibles are taxed the rate could maybe be 3% or 4%. The big time tax evaders (or sheltered speculators) are not using Obamaphones and EBT cards. |
