This is an honest question - IS there a need for custom illustrations nowadays?

I remember a few years ago, toons were in great demand. There were like contests on the boards and all - and everyone and his brother wanted to get a custom toon for his site. Great times. Punchbunny, me, sosfactory, couple of others - I can't speak for others, but i was booked months in advance just from gfy.

hence my question - is there a need for custom toons nowadays?

just draw the stuff and sell on microstock and cafepress and zazzle

Edit: it's not about me getting moolah. It's about.. I wanna know if custom illu's are IN or OUT, y'know?! If that makes sense.
