People are psychologically biased to see bald men as dominant leaders
 

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Goldman Sachs head Lloyd Blankfein. Netscape founder Marc Andreessen. FUBU founder and "Shark Tank" investor Daymond John. Lots of heavy hitters in business are bald guys. And not just balding, but completely bare up there. You could argue that it's symptomatic of male privilege. But according to research from the University of Pennsylvania, there's something powerful about having a smooth dome.

In three experiments, researcher Albert Mannes found:

? "Men with shaved heads were rated as more dominant."

? "Men whose hair was digitally removed were perceived as more dominant, taller, and stronger than their authentic selves."

? "Men experiencing natural hair loss may improve their interpersonal standing by shaving."

Now a data scientist for the US government, Mannes argues that the shaved-and-dominant link comes from cultural associations, in the same way that being tall and having a deep voice each signal dominance.

"In US society ... shaved heads are often found on men in traditionally masculine professions," he writes, "so dominance may emerge through stereotypical associations with these figures."

When guys decide to shave off their hair, they're tapping into a cultural history of close-cropped dominance, from Michael Jordan imposing his will on the basketball court to Bruce Willis saving the day on the silver screen.

Finally...... a perk for baldnessssss :)

No surprise at all, if you shave your head you look more "tough" and "bad ass". For example when I tried having very short hair (3-4 mm or so, I was too pussy to go completely bald) I did not like how I looked because of that. I simply looked more "angry" or less friendly, or something. I went back to average length of hair :)

The reason behind this is probably very simple; testosterone causes hair loss. The more testosterone one has, the more likely he is going to get hair loss and eventually being bald. Though there are other factors included too, but anyways, testosterone is strongly associated with hair loss.

And other characteristics involved with testosterone are too associated with masculinity and leadership. Like strong jaws, but there have also been some research that suggests that some men have evolved "fake" jaws to emulate high testosterone levels (high testosterone= good immune system-> women prefer healthy men).

I will give you guys a secret. I shave my head smooth but let my beard get to about 3 or 4 days growth. I wear a button up shirt that has some pink in it. Women love that look. They also love my smooth balls as I shave those everytime I shave my head which is about every 5 days.

So I should just go bald gracefully - No more miracle shampoos...
