Tesla Model X - wtf?

http://www.hybridcars.com/wp-content...91-668x409.jpg

seriously? :helpme

what did the designer smoke to create that accident on wheels?

and besides free electricity - does it also come with a free insurance when your kids keep bumping the doors into the cars parked next to yours?

also VERY practical when it rains or you have snow on your roof...

freecartoonporn 09-03-2015 08:53 AM

i like it, but in reality it will be pita. regarding parking space issues and some points mentioned above.

dyna mo 09-03-2015 08:54 AM

that's a fantastic looking vehicle.

those doors are brilliantly designed to fold up and out of the way in tight spots like parking lots.

L-Pink 09-03-2015 09:03 AM

I thought that was a customized Pontiac Aztec.

there's a cult following for the Aztek so it's a fitting design

With regular doors that can't happen? :error

Relentless 09-03-2015 09:18 AM

Walter White would have been much more badass in that than in his Aztec

not big on the design.

Tom-LifeSelector 09-03-2015 09:48 AM

I like it. Maybe 20 years later I can buy it :D

Totally laughing out loud right now.

Such a funny scene.

Imagine someone doing that in person, completely serious.

michael.kickass 09-03-2015 09:58 AM

It's not that bad, except the price.

EliteWebmaster 09-03-2015 10:49 AM

It was bearable and possibly trendy right up until I saw that ridiculous price. For that price, I rather go buy the new NSX and have spare change left over to buy a Pontiac Aztec to haul kids if I had any :1orglaugh

SEXTANT 09-03-2015 11:03 AM

love it!!!

Tesla's not gonna hit that 500k cars/year production& sales by 2020 goal they must reach to stay above water with $140k vehicles.

TimBlaze 09-03-2015 11:11 AM

If it had normal doors, it would at least look like an acceptable crossover SUV. But they had to go and be special.

PS - Is it a sedan or an SUV? I cant tell

For $140k I could max out the Audi Q7 and convert it to wheelchair accessible. And it's a hell of a lot sexier.

Mobius Matt 09-03-2015 11:39 AM

Does this one drive itself yet?

johnnyloadproductions 09-03-2015 01:22 PM

If I had a family and money to burn (and trusted my wife) I'd buy one out of principle.

Elon is changing the world. :2 cents:

looks good :thumbsup

JamesAB 09-04-2015 06:46 AM

I guess it's a matter of taste. I like it. "Back To The Future" fans from the 80's can now get a family car that reminds them of a Delorean.

$tandaman 09-04-2015 03:20 PM

Stephan, you do realize that falcon doors take much less space to open up? :)

$tandaman 09-04-2015 03:21 PM

You can see a demo how it works here: Model X | Tesla Motors :)

Why would anyone want to live in a place where you get snow on your roof?

I may have to order one of these...

If you check the website at Tesla Motors | Premium Electric Vehicles it's actually a pretty cool design. The door setup like this lets a family get into the car much more easily, lets you stand upright while inside the car, and won't hit the cars parked beside it. Aesthetically it looks kind of weird but actually the design makes sense, at least in the initial viewing.

Cahek, The $132k price tag is for the "Signature" series, with is the very top of the line Tesla Model X, which is just about the same as the Telsa Model S Signature, and is not a fair quote for the context of this thread.

Probably soon. The Model S's already ship with cameras and sensors that allow for self driving when the next software update is issued. I would expect that they will offer the same technology in the Model X, at least as an option.

Why?

It' uses no gas so it doesn't pollute. It uses no gas, so its cheaper to run. It uses an EV motor so its lighter and more efficient. It has gull wing doors so its easier to board and exit. Like the Model S, it's super fast too. If I wanted an SUV I would seriously consider a Model X over other cars in its class.

Regardless of your need to insult based on things you makeup , I'm right. In fact, elon musk knows this too. That's why tesla is working on the model 3, look it up sometime.
