Is this logo any good?
|
1999 yes :2 cents::2 cents:
|
Its light years better than adult centros retarded ghetto webmaster campaign.....
|
better than anything I could make, you do it yourself?
|
Its not bad, but its not great, its about the max I can do or done
|
Do a little test: Try watermarking a video and upload it on Youtube. Play the video a see how the logo looks.

But I have a feeling it could be better if the text stood out more. Maybe even something as a simple outline or "stroke" in photoshop would make it better.. It's not great but not the worst I've ever seen either. :2 cents: |
The log is good. Try putting the text in the log itself like it was branded or scorched into the wood. And remove the star it does nothing to cement the branding. You are huge wood not huge star or wood star etc...

It seems nice, yeah... :) :thumbsup
|
as a basic starter idea is an awesome one :winkwink:
|
I kinda like how the log/wood looks but I definitely do not like the text.
And you will need some kind of outline around it for the watermarks because that brown will blend with the most of the vids. |
I'd like to thank everyone for your feedback and suggestions. Thank you!

Definitely get rid of the star - and don't wrap the text so far around the wood (difficult to read)...just kern the letters (close the gaps between letters) and arch it slightly.
|
It looks nice for me.
|
Looking good.

Relentless is spot on with scorching or branding the wood with the text, therefore a smaller logo, and the wood itself can be made slightly larger. Great idea :thumbsup

5 minute idea:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-15E-z0MV4s...0/hugewood.jpg Then make it an animation where a drill comes in and drills the tip, then pulls out with a gush of sawdust.. :upsidedow |

Logos are a visual way to cement your brand in the mind of a viewer. You aren't trying to pack a big message into a logo. You aren't generating sales with a logo. Think of any company logo the same way you think of a person's first name. If your name is Josh you want people to remember that, and they will form opinions about you based on your actions and associate all that with the name Josh. You wouldn't name yourself JoshHasAbigWoodCockHeyLookAtThisStarWeHaveHDXXXVid because that would be confusing, annoying and not memorable. The only difference between a company brand and a human first name is that a company brand gets to be UNIQUE so it's as if you are the ONLY Josh in the entire world and nobody else can ever be named Josh after you. The asterisk was kind of a joke because of the previous comments about the star. :upsidedow |

Get a second opinion :2 cents:
For less than $100 you can have that logo done by a real graphics artist :2 cents: The log idea is OK but it should be minimalist or an abstraction with text that is pro underneath it IMO. |

Wood is hard to do without looking crappy/outdated, too. :winkwink: |
I try to stay away from square logos. Horizontal ones are easier to use (on the site / on a header / as a watermark etc) :)
