Old man claims he's a state supported artist
 

Last night I was listening to a call-in talk radio show - not sure how old the guy calling was, maybe he wasn't even old, I wasn't really listening very closely but I heard him say 'I'm a state sponsored artist', then silence from the host, and with pretty good timing the guy adds 'Yeah, I draw welfare and social security checks' :winkwink:

Sounds like the cornball jokes my uncles used to tell, but i did find it clever.

We have state supported artists, but usually they paint, sculp or whatever, don't sing. Though I knew one kid of such "artist", and the kid is now artist and probably not state supported one, at least he has own money based on his songs getting pretty decent amounts of radio time.

Anything is possible.
