I watched the video hyping the product and it looks interesting, but they are using the word Hologram wrong.

Basically, you can watch porn with 3D Stereo headsets like the Oculus rift, and regardless of wether or not its a recording of a real porn scene or if its computer generated avatars, it's not a hologram.

According to Google:

So maybe what they should do is drop the word "Hologram" from their pitch and just call it what it really is - Stereo viewing.

what would a first generation holo player look like, anyway? glasses, four walls, what? we know it will eventually be "charged ions bla bla bla" but that is 50 years away. What does 10 years look like?

First generation take the form of a headset, like Oculus Rift, Gear VR, HoloLens or even Google Cardboard.

hope this will be the start of something better... respect for those guys btw... hope we can refer to them in some years from now as some kind of pioneers in the "holo" area

They are also talking about a 'dome' which you can walk around and view the scene from every angle.

My vote is for oculus rift. They need to make it opaquable and smaller but that will come.
