Any Other Vancouverites

So which of you guys and gals hail from the Vancouver area? Vancouver, as in Vancouver, British Columbia. Not that fake Vancouver in Washington state :) No worries, I won't show up at your door. Password Sentry does not offer door-to-door delivery. Not in these times. We may show up via hexacopter :) Incidentally we've had issues in the Vancouver West End (residential area off the downtown) with voyeurs using hexacopters to peer into windows. Hmmm. maybe new concept to replace the dated upskirt concept: sexacopter.com :)

Idigmygirls 09-12-2015 02:41 PM

Vancouver's been home for me for the past 12 years :thumbsup

shake 09-12-2015 02:52 PM

Not home, but I'm there every few weeks.

We do have palm trees in the West End (on the water and in the hood). But, no celebs (other than Brent Butt). So, better than LA :)

I was in LA and Nevada before I moved up here.

It's just a beautiful city, and a great place to live. Really good integration of nature into a city. I also found the people here to have great skills for high-tech development, which my company does, so it was a good fit.

Get out of town! We moved from South Burnaby to North Burnaby when I was 12. Went to Aubrey Elementary (as it was known at the time), and then Burnaby North (like Burnaby Joe Sakic).

Spunky 09-12-2015 06:30 PM

Grew up around Central park and have lived here all my life. costs a left nut to live here but I wouldn't have it any other way

You're lucky. Costs both nuts to live in the West End. I lived around Central Park when I was attending UBC. Nice area. Yeah, well worth it for sure. I here you are close to shopping ;) My dentist is actually located in Metrotown Mall.

I lived near Metrotown 2000-01 and in 2002 moved to Sperling/Hastings at the foot of the mountain... Fond memories of North Burnaby. Not the same since they closed the NBI though!

spike69 09-12-2015 10:34 PM

I'm in the Fraser Valley as well... but I go into Downtown Vancouver at least 3 times a month, I need to be around different people and I enjoy the music in Vancouver.

Been gone from North Burnaby many years prior to that. But, yeah...good memories. NBI (or Admiral as I remember it) was one of our haunts back in the day. When did it close? What's replacing it?

Got a great view of Kits from the West End. I'm the guy off to the north waving my hands....now.

Itchy 09-13-2015 11:57 AM

Out in the valley :)

PSDan 09-15-2015 09:07 AM

Been in Chilliwack a few times. Always stopped in the McDonalds when going that way on a camping trip. Coming and going. Then, I got married and became veggie. Now I do neither :)

RuthB 09-15-2015 09:20 AM

I'm out in Delta area, and my daughter, her fiance and their son (my grandson) live in Yaletown.

Cool. Delta is really nice. A friend of mine lived there until he separated from his gf, and sold his house. You a grandmother!? Wow! You look too young. Good on you!

Kits is nice, Closest I came to Kits was driving through to it to UBC :) Best beaches over there. I did frequent the beaches in my bach days - mostly to cruise the beach girls.

Yaletown is happening. Recently someone sold one of their parking spaces for over $40,000, which would cover the down payment ;)

I kid. My wife stayed there once when she was down in those parts in an international rowing competition some years ago. She had good things to say about the city. It was a Vancouver to Vancouver call, but still long distance. Go figure :)

i figured, i'm kidding around too. i actually prefer the canadian vancouver because it's more metropolitan but the US one has some nice qualities too. being close to the gorge, etc.

Both are nice. Never been to the WA one, but maybe next time if she does that regatta again. Nice to get out of the city.
