JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Delta State University officials say they have locked down their campus after there were reports of an active shooter on campus.

schools are gun free zones, even if you have your permit to carry. They make great targets for crazy people.

Obviously more guns are the answer, because no one ever shoots anyone outside of gun free zones..

i'm plenty sure both the campus cops and city cops on the scene are fully locked & loaded.

I believe just about every mass shooting in the past 20 years were in "Gun Free Zones". Movie theaters = gun free zone. Universities = gun free zone. Grade Schools / High Schools = gun free zone. Churches = gun free zone. Military Bases = gun free zone. Hospitals = gun free zone.

I want to see one mass shooter man up and rush a shooting range. See how good he really is.

I'm not saying more guns are the answer. What i'm saying is, if I wanted to go kill a bunch of people, I would be more likely to choose a place that was a gun free zone so I could get the body count as high as possible.

It's obvious that the people that commit mass shootings take this into consideration.

I find this solution completely ludicrous as it would be impossible, but this is what people constantly throw around as an answer.

I've never seen metal detectors at a movie theater.. You are just saying something not true to fit your agenda.. How about those mass shooter events on military bases here in the U.S.?

You can't be serious. They don't need metal detectors in movie theaters because the people LEGALLY carrying guns follow laws. You know, the same laws criminals break. Every gun owner I know that has a CP will still disarm in no gun zones to abide by laws. This is why insane whack jobs target these areas because they know other people tend to follow laws -- regardless of how fucked up, and politically driven they tend to be.

I've lived on military bases my entire life, from Korea, California, Tampa, and Texas and they have probably the strictest no gun laws. If you're not an MP (Army) or SP (Navy and Air Force) then you are NOT carrying a firearm while on base. If you're not in a war zone, then you can't carry. Not even if you're General fucking Patton, you still ain't strapped. AND, because there tends to be less crime on military bases, their police forces are bare bones and usually spread out. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know when they'll be patrolling the flight line, dependent housing, etc.
