1and1.com - Talk about a CUNT of a Company.

I was trying to save a client some money, so I decided to try 1and1 for their free domain for a year promo. No commitment, no fuss, and if it doesn't work out, I can transfer to another registrar. Yeah, that worked out like sand in your lube. Still have $350 on my card that I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to fight to get back. It went from free to 350 in the blink of an eye.

What a shitbag cunty company. You'd have to be an asshole even to be an affiliate for them. :321GFY

You're going to have fun trying that too with 1and1...

Look on the bright side - at least you saved $8 on the domain :upsidedow

j3rkules 09-14-2015 11:43 AM

Yeah, shady fuckers.

mineistaken 09-14-2015 11:45 AM

Would be nice if you elaborated on 350.

Hardships of transferring from them were notorious on forums for years though.

Adult 101, always read the fine print.

:2 cents:

That's ridiculous!

shake 09-14-2015 11:48 AM

Yeah, they are the worst for that kind of shit. I tell everyone rule #1 is keep your domain away from your host. I can understand trying to save a client money, but if they can't afford 80 cents a month for a domain they should find another business or hobby.

Yea... well I know them now :D

All those easy entry guys like 1and1, blue host, hotsgator etc. are aimed at broke dreamers in a hurry to fail without spending much money. They help a lot with the first part, - not so helpful with the second part.

You still get (no more than) what you pay for, even online.

Milfer 09-14-2015 12:09 PM

You should not have registered a domain that you wanted to transfer to another registrar. They offer one year for free for a reason.

Anyway why did you need to transfer at first place? and how did you end up paying $350? I am asking because I also registered a free domain there

Sly 09-14-2015 12:17 PM

Never make an important decision based on economic reasons. Usually leads to disaster. Case in point.

"Free" anything just isn't worth it. I run the other way when I see that word.

Case point, I ran towards a free pussy sign... wound up with 7 cats in front of a Winn Dixie.

This nigra knows what he is talking about.

Paul&John 09-14-2015 12:48 PM

Once I tried to register there, but it didnt worth the hassle :)

Domain + Plus Hosting + Billed for Two Contracts

After I signed up, it took me to a contract selection page. I clicked it and it kept taking me to a contract payment screen with my payment information there. I filled it out several times trying to get access. :disgust

Barry-xlovecam 09-14-2015 03:07 PM

Call them or email them to cancel the duplicate contract.

Make an account on some domain legal@domain and cc: the emails to get their attention. Allow them to resolve it first. Then if they don't -- you make a dispute claim with your card's issuer for the entire amount -- they will chargeback the transaction.

Great idea. I'll be using that next time I have shitty service :thumbsup

1&1 I saw their sponsored posts on facebook and in the comments everyone just slated them, lol it was embarrassing. Never considered using them after that...

I finally got it resolved (I hope). They sent me an email verification stating that I cancelled my account and the billing was in error. I won't know until the money goes back onto my card, but that's enough ammunition to win a chargeback. They're still a shitty company.

Bunch of camel jockeys run it.
