Kids are already often being raised by computers, and television already. People can't even make relationships work out now, when they don't have the option to use a sex bot.

Throw in an artificial uterus, and you have a way for a man to start a family, with no fear of ever losing his child, or being cheated on, or being forced to pay his ex money every month. Our current system is just making relationships with real humans into a liability, with little actual reward compared to going it alone.

Of course people get offended at the idea that they can be replaced by a machine, but realistically all we are as humans, is really just imperfect robots made out of meat. I am sure there will still be people that prefer to date people, but being in a relationship with a robot will become normal, just as being gay has been normalized within our society. What a person uses for their sexual pleasure is really no one's business.

If there were sex robots as good as (or better) than the real thing, I think wives around the world would welcome it. When she "has a headache". the husband can pull the bot out of the closet and get his rocks off. If a woman has a problem with that, then she's not worth being married to in the first place.

Interesting to see mention of Roxxxy - I remember a lot of buzz about that a few years ago. Many people, myself included, were sceptical of the claims that the robot was able to have meaningful and human-like conversations with its owner. According to the Wikipedia page, it has been more than 5 years since it was introduced and pre-orders were taken, but none seem to have shipped yet.

4000 pre-orders at $7k to $9k each is a lot of coin.
