Just finished watching Narcos on Netflix, and if the show is at all similar to real life, he killed a lot of fucking people. And he didn't seem like a good person to be friends with, do business with, work for, or really even know. But making $67M a day back in 1985...that's insane money, even by today's standards.

just because some small sects within them capitalized on a minuscule amount of it at one point or another doesn't paint the whole agency with the same brush. It's simplistic to think so.

Everyone that was anyone in Miami back in the day was making crazy money and spending it just as fast.

I lived in Tampa from 1985-87, and that place was like the old wild west. Coke was cheap and very strong..not a good mix for a 20 year old single guy.

He made a lot of money but nothing comes for free. In the end he end up dead.

That's fucking insane, isn't it?

Oh, they had an idea... Just couldn't do much about it. If you have twenty guys in three hundred locations all making coke, not much a handful of agents from intelligence agencies can do about it.

Then factor in the corruption.... You can put your life at risk by arrested a man driving a truck full of coke or you can pocket a thousand bucks.... Hard decision.
