Who will win the World Series????
So who do you guys think will win the World Series?
I am a massive Toronto Blue Jays fan and I have waited a long god damn time for this LOL. Last night was a night to remember :-) I cannot wait for the first game of the ALDS on Oct 8th!!! |
Go Blue Jays
|
Not really a huge baseball fan but it's nice to see the Blue Jays contending again. I remember their two world series wins in the early nineties. It was hard not to get caught up in the excitement. Hopefully they can do it again this year.

A friend and I are going to the Ray's/Marlins game tonight. Talk about a meaningless game. At least the tickets will be cheap.

Cue "how many countries compete in the World Series?" comment...
|
Don't dare discount the San Francisco Giants.

I'm a Yankees fan, I hope we win that one last game we need so we can clinch a Wildcard spot!
I'll also be somewhat rooting for the Chicago Cubs (they clinched one of the NL Wildcard spots a few days ago) cos they have the most unbelievably die-hard fans who support them year in year out, even though they haven't won the WS since 1908! Suffice it to say, I am not a Blue Jays fan, and I'm definitely not jumping on the fairweather fan bandwagon to support them, like it seems the rest of Canada has! :1orglaugh |

wait.. you mean if a team starts winning more people will start liking that team?
i can't figure out why... |
Betting against the Jays is not a good prop.
|
The Yankees aren't out of it yet.
I'm hoping for a Subway series! |
As long as the Dodgers dont win.
:thumbsup |

The very first World Series I ever watched was the 2000 Subway World series. It was amazing, and made me wish baseball had been around in the UK while I was growing up! I fell hard for the Yankees that year watching them play their hearts out and win! |
its a damn miracle the yankees even made the playoffs with those guys, girardi deserves manager of the year for that alone.
they have no bench and their starters are on fumes so that is going to be an issue if they even make it past the wildcard. they play the jays tough, but i don't see them beating them in a 5 game series. they COULD beat the royals though, that team has been falling apart lately and they lost their closer for the year. |
Jays all the way, baby!
22 year drought is too long. |
Dodgers vs Astros in World Series

i'm not really a baseball fan but the whole Wilmer Flores story was pretty cool.

Im not a huge baseball fan, but just for the energy it brings to the city I hope the Jays win. Toronto loves to party for these things.

Do all major league teams fuck their fans like Tampa does? I bought the first round of drinks as we walked in and for 3 drinks it was $51.00! This was for house brand stuff that sells at liquor stores for less than $20 a bottle. This isn't a high end hotel or restaurant ... this is a baseball park. Aside of being 15 games out of first place maybe this was why the place was 20% occupied. $15.00 Parking $ 9.00 Hotdog $ 9.00 Can of Coors light $17.00 Mixed drink |

detroit on the other hand has great prices compared to either though. beer is still around 8 bucks but other than that the food is a good deal. |

...because it certainly fits with all these forty, sixty, and ninety million dollar contracts they're paying these guys to swing a bat and catch a fly ball. I'm not really much of a baseball fan, but I do keep up on MLB highlights every day, mostly because of my dad who IS a huge fan. He being from Montreal was always an Expos guy but since they moved to DC he's been a Bluejays fan. I could see the Jays winning it, they certainly have the talent, the offense and defense, but I just don't yet know if they have the chops to go the distance. They're Canada's only team so I won't be too harsh on the whole "fairweather fans" thing. If they make it to the world series much of Canada is going to rally around them, it's that simple. |

Guy beside me bought 3 tall cans of beer and it was $36, he gave her $40 with tip. Same cans are about $2 each at the LCBO. |
If someone gave my g/f and I FREE season tickets it would cost 15 grand a year to park, eat, drink, lol.

they have the talent to win it all, no doubt--now all they have to do is actually do it.. heh |

The new Yankee Stadium is so over-priced it's almost criminal. I took a friend and his 12 year old son to a Twins game in August and it cost me, including tickets, $650. Insane. His son loved it so it was great but Jebus.
Sad to say I think it will be a Mets/Blue Jays World Series with the Blue Jays winning it all. Of course, the fact that smoe steroids are legal, and certainly easier to obtain, in Canada can't POSSIBLY have anything to do with Toronto's success, could it? LOL Arod who? LOL |

I go to a few Seattle Mariner games every year and there are vendors surrounding the stadium selling all kinds of food and snacks for those who want to save a few dollars. |
What the fuck is the world series?
|
As for my World Series prediction: While I would like to see the Cubs win it all I think it will be the Dodgers.
|
This is awesome.
Go BlueJays! |
Wow no mention of the team that won 100 games, has 11 world series titles, including 2 in the last decade.
OK. :error |
Nobody should want to play these Astros. They are playing with house money.
|
The Giants.
Oh wait, that's next year. |

The Blue Jay's have a quaint old stadium that seats about 5,000 just north of Clearwater. Very different than watching them play in Toronto. |
