google penalizing causede by popunder

hello guys

since ten days ago i start to use two popunder networks simultaneously one of this networks has multiple pops on my website but since two days ago my Google traffic dropped suddenly, actually i lost 80% my Google traffic
is it possible Google penalize my website? or its just a usual sandbox?
is there any chance to get back traffic to normal condition?

Abelohost 10-02-2015 06:04 AM

It very well may be. Google has strict regulations on the type and quantity of advertisements you put on your website.

Have a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_0WI75X4U4. Matt Cutts says it doesn't. It might have diminished your user engagement.

j3rkules 10-02-2015 06:13 AM

At the minimum, intrusive ads such as popunders, are a horrible user experience.

entumovil 10-02-2015 07:34 AM

Hi!
great question and great answer
we were wondering on implementing such ads on our sites
(just 1 per person per day, so it wont appear to the same user twice or more times on the same day, just if they delete cookies)
so really good news it is not penalized (yet) by Google but its also true inst a gtreat user xperience for visitors..
so maybe you should just take one of those networks and not both .. dont now, try and let us know! :)

pornuploader 10-02-2015 11:23 AM

guys i noticed this drop is not caused by popunders networks
since 1 October Google updated its algorithm there are a lot of website lost traffics since two days ago
just do a search in Google

DamnSexy 10-02-2015 11:32 AM

Check your google webmaster account , maybe they put a manual action on your website.

I just checked our stats and am not seeing anything abnormal, just the usual minor fluctuations on a day to day basis but certainly nothing that would concern me.

That said, we don't use 3rd party ad networks nor popunders/iframes either so I cannot speak to any effects, positive or negative, those may or may not have.

updating in Google algorithm doesn't effect on all websites
i am pretty sure my website is affected because during 8 months ago i never seen anything like that
my website is experiencing sever fluctuations

E$_manager 10-03-2015 01:07 AM

I'm think it was not popunder problem. What exactly contain your popunder? Are you tested it?

@pornuploader.
I have the same problem with my site as you.
September 29 everything was normal and October 1 all Google traffic was gone.
What I saw in google webmaster tool, I have a lot of blocked sources. (I think thats the problem)
One of etahub.com I do not know what it is and I can not figure out.
If anyone knows who uses it, tell me please.
Greetings
Jaco

If google notices that your site is using spammy techniques or sneaky/cloaking redirects, then it will put a manual action on your site and start to deindex it. If they did, then a message should appear on your google webmasters dashboard.

This happened to me after i started to used popup ads from plugrush, i lost all my traffic for weeks, and it takes time to get it back.

Yep this happend to me too, a couple off months ago and its was also a popunder from plugrush but that was no problem google webmaster tools informed by mail that i have spam on the site. But now i dont get it, i can only see that i have a lot off pages block by google blocked resources (webmaster tools) All the page has the same problem a link to etahub.com.
And i cant find it what it is.:Oh crap

DamnSexy 10-05-2015 08:10 AM

Once your deindexed , you have to ask google for a reconsideration of your website.

Before you do that you have 2 make sure that your site is clean.
I take a look on your site and i have 2 attacks on the browser that is not good:winkwink:

if you erverything oke on your site than google for reconsideration for Google you get instruction what you must do.

Mine experience with exoclick plugrush and ero-adverticing are good (but that is mine upion) if you looking for a good trusted advertiser.
greetings
Jaco

Black All Through 10-06-2015 10:27 AM

Google has taken a very aggressive path on popunders-popups, in these past 2 1/2 months. Don't take me wrong, they already were hitting sites that had more than one even before that. I've noticed that some of the major tubes have also gotten rid of the pops in these past weeks.
