This is really sad for me cause I grew up in Warsaw, IN and personally knew Tony Elliott. He and my dad worked together at Tony's trailer and golf cart biz for the last 10 years. He lived a block away from my dad. Sad that he and the other 3 guys were just going to a Irish football game and their lives are over :(

Ignore the assholes.

We have a sprint car track not far from here...we've been meanin' to check out a race, but never seem to find the time. Our neighbour used to build sprint cars in his garage/driveway and his son raced 'em. The straight pipe exhaust would rattle the windows when he fired it up nextdoor.

Sorry to hear of the loss.

ya maybe it was partly my fault cause I posted it like a news article rather than saying one of my dad's best friends died..

I grew up watching this guy race sprint cars locally in the 80's. After the rich people shut down the track cause of the noise he raced more competitively. I remember back in the 90's watching him race on ESPN.

from the link I posted Tony Stewart the NASCAR driver posted about the loss. I read on comments from one of the news articles that Stewart prolly just did that to get in the news and didn't know Tony Elliot but Stewart up till last year still raced sprint cars. Also the championships that Tony Elliot won in 98' and 00'.. Well Stewart won that in 95' so they raced together many times. Tony Stewart is also from Indiana and I seen him race at my hometown track a longtime ago..

It's just really sad for all the families involved. :(

I don't feel like putting Google in front of me. Who the fuck is Tony Elliot? I'm guessing it has something to do with country music or some other redneck shit.

I guess the real question is when you guys that show so much disrespect die.. Who will report or give a shit. I know I won't :2 cents:

I bet if he was armed he would still be here

JuicyBunny 10-04-2015 12:46 PM

Was he one of the Charleston Elliots? If so, I am sad to hear. Relative.
Either way sad to hear a productive member of society died too soon.

No he lived and grew up in my hometown of Warsaw, IN. He was one of my dad's best friends and lived a block away from each other.

That's the thing ALL 4 of these men were highly productive members of society
Charles Smith 71 was a city councilman and was man of the year for the county in 2001

Scott Smith 44 (son or Charles) was deputy prosecuting attorney.

Scott Bibler 51 had spent the last 25 as a football coach, and school counselor at Tippecanoe Valley High School. He left coaching just this year to do in home counseling.

Tony Elliott 54 was a real father to 4 kids and I know for sure at least 2 of them graduated from college. He traveled all over the USA and the world between sponsoring other race car drivers and selling his race car trailers.

Elliott, one of USAC's greatest ambassadors, was a two-time USAC National Sprint Car Champion (1998 and 2000)..

A sponsor and supporter of both USAC participants and events with his company, Elliott's Custom Trailers, he was still a familiar face at many USAC racing events throughout the season, including last weekend's "4-Crown Nationals" at the Eldora Speedway
Several NASCAR drivers remembered him as..
Kasey Kahne

Sad to hear the news about Tony Elliott. Such a great guy who always had a smile on his face. We had a lot of good races together

We were sorry to hear of the tragic passing of our competitor and friend, Tony Elliott, following a plane crash on Friday, Oct. 2nd. A fierce competitor on the track, he was also a father, husband, son, brother and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Elliott family at this time. Godspeed & Rest In Peace. -- Tony Stewart Racing

Sucks wither way. Sorry to hear about that crash though.
Gonna leave a big hole in their home town community.
