The problem with outsourced outsourcing? Well the guy you hire to do your work better have a good team. I have outsourced my projects into other countries before and it can be a gamble.

1. Russian outsourced groups do not talk much but get the work done. The cost are average not cheap not expensive.
2. Chinese outsource groups, please that can be bad but not as bad as
3. India groups! They can be horrible.

The task is to find the good apples in the rotten patch. Yes is that worth money? Well you are paying for the connection. So if Joe in Cali is hired by me to give me 10,000 lines of code that will turn on a wowza sever and it cost 44% less than USA tech, and Joe delivers is a perfect win. Your paying Joe to manage the project essentially and keep cost down. So in that sense it is worth it. How much is your time worth?

Be very careful with this - it's only feasible if you have a REALLY good team. In fact, you would need to do something more along the lines of setting up an office and hiring a team yourself so you can actually control the quality. It's ultimately you that is responsible in the client's eyes, and good programmers are really hard to come by and IT salaries are going.

I would say don't bother with this though...that ship has sailed already. We're based in Poland - which you'd think would be cheaper as it's central/eastern europe - but the salaries *good* programmers want are starting to catch up to Germany.

I used to do that. Made enough profit to start the Company I just sold. It's easy and simple, as long as you understand your customers needs
