An essay; a rant; an observation perhaps?

So I have been an adult webmaster since 2003. Back then it seemed like the average webmaster owned perhaps 1 to 10 .com domains and very few owned anything else, but maybe .net or .org.

These days it amazes me how many people buy .biz, .info and other shithole domains and expect to get any kind of traffic to them.

On top of that it also amazes me how many people are fucking dieing out there. I mean literally fucking dieing out of the adult industry. Dropping fucking dead like flies. Back when Linkspun came out in 2010 I would have about 10 trades die because the other guy let his domain go. Today that is more like 10 per day will die because the other guy let his domains go.

What kind of freak'in amazes me is how many people work for say, 8 years, and have perhaps 15 blogs they put a lot of blood, sweat and cum into. Then they find that the domains aren't making shit. Of course these people are not updating their blogs.. most are 2012, 2013 and 2014 for last updates. But they still expected traffic. My blogs (all 250) of them still get traffic, still pay me money and it just blows me away when others cannot seem to make money on them. They are not my main source of income, but they still produce enough sales that I wouldn't want to sell them.

So why does a guy put in 8 years on 15 of his blogs and then just let the domains go? Often the domains are something marketable or worth buying/selling. As an example that isn't an actual example there might be something like fuckedupfacials.com... Not a real example, but a good example of what is out there. Why wouldn't this guy at least sell the 15 blog domains for say $150? Or even $100?

Some of the domains that have made me the most money were purchased from someone who had a brain and enough sense to sell them instead of letting them go. I paid $500 for 11 domains. I made the money back within a month and then for years I made $1000's on them.

So if you are planning on going the way of the dodo bird, go to the sales portion of this forum and at least get something for your work!

I can only assume some people just move on to other things and what was once largely valuable to them, has little to none any longer. $150.00 compared to something that used to bring a lot of cash isn't much, and I'm guessing to many people may not be worth the time it would take to make the transaction or put forth the effort it would even take to make a post about it?
