Google analytics replacement
Hello
It's been a few days since google analytics gave me a warning about the limit of usage for some of my sites : "Your data volume (255M hits) exceeds the limit of 10M hits per month as outlined in our Terms of Service. If you continue to exceed the limit, you may lose access to future data." So I'm looking for a free replacement of google analytics, if you guys have some links for me I would really appreciate it. thank you guys |
Ever heard of piwik?
|
Do they have a paid platform you can use? Would most likely be your best option. Most systems with that level of data are quite pricey. Adobe comes to mind, and it's massively expensive. Nice system though.
It would come down to: how much data do you need and how valuable to you is it? |
Paid piwik just forget that. We wanted (use piwik for years) but the cost would be 5000 euros+ easy for one month. (you pay per action and everything is a action in there system)
https://piwik.pro/cloud/ We still host and maintain piwik ourself and works perfect for us. |
yes I checked piwik, but with 800M hits by month on my netowork, the price isn't acceptable for me.
|
Adobe rocks.

If you dont want to make your own log analyser or have a loadbalancer that can give you usefull data + netflow, then you might take a look at Real User Monitoring (RUM) | New Relic Browser
|
Get with the guys from Histats. They are not quite as good but they offer a lot of services.
|
ok Histats has a limit also, and they discretly place a backlink also... that's a shame.
about New Relic I asked for a pricing, let see... |

Does google have an enterprise paid version? I was not aware of the limitations. It does seem that with 255m hits/mo you could shell out for a paid solution.
|
My solution (I had the same warning from google):
where the scripting for google analytics is, but it in between this: Code:
if(Math.random()<0.05){ Or pay google for a premium account of course :) |
yes I already apply this The Hun, it's just that I would like like to find a service that can count all my stats...
@pompousjohn google analytics premium is 150k$/yr |
I like the hun's idea. Also could you not put different tracking code account on different parts of your website that are non related and don't get much crossover....
Or better still redirect some of your excess traffic to me...... :) |

Get your own stats server and run Piwik on it.
|
We are using nosql/hadoop, our load balancer logs, and Elastic search -- one step beyond GA. But we are collecting data that no statistical program offers :2 cents:

something to look at: Application Performance Management & Monitoring | New Relic
We used this on thehun when we were on our old server. I moved to MojoHost and we never installed it. But it's very useful. Not only does it give you usage feedback and such, but it also monitors MySQL queries and all kinds of performances on your apps. I was able to find some bottlenecks on thehun with this. Very useful! |

what you need is a dedicated server just for piwik if your doing a ton of traffic.
there is no cheap / free solution i have seen for your kind of traffic. Quote:

You'd probably need a fast dedicated server to run piwik with that amount of traffic. You can get something from ovh that won't be too expensive. You may need some database / memorycaching tweaks as well.
Otherwise settle for something that parses your server log files and produces a report. |
