A Site That Does Not Accept DMCAs

youwatch [dot] org is one of those video hosts (a growing trend) that pays pirates for uploading stolen content to their site.

so far, every one of these video hosts, including Openload, streamin, primeshare, mediafire, etc, has an e-mail or form that lets you send your DMCA notices. but youwatch is different.

they actually make you mail your request to them, which will probably still be ignored anyway, since they are russian.

but what about the host, you say? Private Layer Inc... SWISS.

i am hoping this does not become a trend.

if anyone has any info on this video host, feel free to share.

a whois history search finds that the following person registered the site in 2008. this person may or may not still be the owner:

Gabriel Holm from Switzerland:
Karlhovsvagen 22

"Private Layer Inc...", they don't have Inc. in Switzerland. A Swiss company would be called GmbH or AG. I looked a little into it and Private Layer has servers in Switzerland but they are not a Swiss company, they are incorporated in Panama, which is why they use Inc. at the end of their name.

Their terms and conditions do not allow pirated content, maybe the best is to contact the host directly by email, they have an abuse contact address on their page, and submit a link to the pirated content letting them know that their smart ass client is running a paid tube site and pretends that copyright claims are sent to him by registered mail.

That is an address and phone number in Sweden, not Switzerland.
SE is postal sorting code for Sweden
and
+46 is country dialing code for Sweden

I encounter a site once in a while like you describe.

I have gotten results by notifying the upstream chain.

GoDaddy has a form response that as Registrar, it's not their concern... but I remind them that they have a responsibility to know the validity of their Registrants' Contact information. If they (GoDaddy) are not out busy shooting Lions in Africa.

And, YES, the worst Pirate is Ebay. I am currently in a row with Ebay over their company "Half.com", which is selling my print books on Ebay for DOUBLE the cost on Amazon.

I remind them that 10 years ago, Meg Whitman ran for California Governor. After several sappy TV commercials about "Remember me, I used to run Ebay, and you LOVED Ebay," Voters said: "GFY"... Especially us adult sellers, who rode the rollercoaster of having our prints, books, DVDs taken down, one day for nudity on the cover, the next for nudity in the content... etc. And then the next week, big reputation sellers could list...

I've been doing DMCA Take Downs on my own 200 eBooks and 400 DVD Videos, in earnest since 2012, and back to 2005 when I signed up for my first VOD with AEBN and HotMovies... I now do DMCA Take Downs for others. No two projects are exactly the same, and I don't charge in advance.
