Reliable Established Shared Adult Webhost Recommendations?

Yes, I know dedicated servers, or at least VPS is the best path for adult site hosting, but I have some initially low traffic prototype sites in design that need a good scalable host.

I'm open to qualified recommendations, especially by customers (especially with no affiliate codes in host links)

MUST HAVE:

- Cpanel with WHM for multiple domains
- No sneaky throttling of traffic
- Good host management of other accounts on server for consistent performance
- No skimming of traffic by webhost
- In biz at least 5 years
- TOS permits explicit legal adult content
- Relatively inexpensive (I can find tons of expensive dedicated hosts on my own)

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

If you're a customer, tell me how long you have been using them, why you like them, and any sites I could look at on their servers.

If you're not a customer or a webhost, don't trouble yourself with responding.

Also, please don't reply to this thread to tell me you don't know of anything.

Thanks,
- DC

I have been with Amerinoc almost since the day I started. With their help I have grown and upgraded my equipment from a small shared up to dedicated and some smaller sites were even demoted back to shared.

I have always been very happy both with the level of support as well as the service I have received. Highly qualified staff which manages to impress even me, who ran an IT department of 12 for a few years. These guys, well, let's just say they know their stuff.

However, you would have to manage with DirectAdmin. Not a very big difference to Cpanel, it is still point and click and multiple domains and so on.

For what it's worth, Amerinoc has saved me and my business several times. Without them, I would have quit several years ago. They come with my highest recommendations and I am proud to be calling myself an Amerinoc customer since 2009!

You can check my sig. They have cheap VPS/VDS plans.

Thanks for those suggestions.

Any others?

I have used Arvixe shared for about 2 years. It's been solid. The sites load faster than my other hostgator sites, and costs less too. Example site: sexyjenysmith.com. See my sig.

Thanks.

I like that they offer Cpanel, but I'm not sure how they handle multiple domains.

Ideally WHM (Web Host Manager) is how multiple domains/accounts are best handled on a host - each domain can be backed up/restored, as opposed to "parking" multiple domains under one Cpanel account and doing clunky redirections for each domain.

Do you have multiple domains on your account?

They have seriously gone to shit since EIG bought them

Their own on site customer reviews for this month so far:

Surveys sent in the past 2 months: 2318
Surveys completed in the past 2 months: 49
Average satisfaction: 2 and half stars
Percent that would recommend Arvixe: 38.78%
AVOID

I would not recommend it anyone...

From my HostGator experience, I have decided that EIG = "kiss of death" to any quality enterprise.

I had two topshelf dedicated servers for years with HostGator before EIG bought it and the moment they shoved my boxes down to Utah, I irreversibly lost what was a very strong business.

Add 150ms delay and use crappy servers - you're guaranteed to get the boot from google.

From 10,000 uniques per day to essentially zilch.

So I guess, let's EXCLUDE any EIG-owned businesses from these recommendations.

Thanks,

Is that it for shared adult-friendly web hosting options?

That's not too promising.

Has anyone used WEB 750 ?

Acepimp 10-20-2015 05:45 PM

I have not heard of that. What about Dreamhost? I'm looking at them for some new hosting, anyone know if they are good?

I tested DreamHost for some mainstream projects in the past and I give then a 6 out of 10.

I used their DreamPress (managed wordpress) and they kept changing their program, increasing prices, and depreciating allowable limits several times in the short time I was evaluating them.

I found their support to be extremely slow to respond.

Regarding DreamHost and adult, according to my last read of their TOS (yesterday) they are ok with any legal adult...

EXCEPT... NO FREE IMAGE GALLERIES.

I can understand TGPS and banner serving, but my sites are commercial, non-membership oriented. I sell adult products for which I provide adult images.

According to their TOS, if I my product (image) galleries are of any significance, their shared hosting will not allow it.

At this point, so far, Amerinoc seems to be the only viable host to consider, based on all the input to this post.

I'm out the game myself now having retired, so I have no dog or ref code in my suggestion, but I also recommend Amerinoc. I was always VERY happy with them when I used them in the past :thumbsup

Thanks for that!

I'm not sure whether to go with their Shared or Reseller account?

Their lowest tier costs the same as shared.

Any suggestions?

Possibly ask Adraco? He seems more familiar with the current options available than I am :)

dcortez 10-22-2015 08:56 AM

Looks like Shared account with Amerinoc is the way to start - migration up to Reseller apparently is pretty seamless according to their Pre-Sales Support.

I set up a Reseller account with AMERINOC, and so far they have been TOP SHELF!

Chris in tech support has been very responsive / helpful and even though I'm coming from Cpanel server, we are able to migrate Cpanel backups to their DirectAdmin console.

So far so good!

Guess you found your match.

Anyway since it's only appropriate to give credit where credit is due - been very satisfied with Certified Hosting ever since I switched to them in 2010.

Have my personal sites with them, and since they were also used for a certain bigger project I guess I can vouch for shared and dedicated options alike.

Countless features, fast support, overall a top experience.

Is SSD Hosting really essential when choosing a host ?

What are good alternatives to Arvixe shared hosting ?
