You need to remember the time frame here; This 2002 - After Kuwait (1991) but shortly before the 2003 invasion. About this time there was a lot of discussion about what Iraq was doing with WMD, and the inspectors were being jerked around and eventually kicked out of Iraq. The memo says "On Iraq, Blair will be with us should military operations be necessary". What the memo does not say is "Let's bitch smack Iraq around next year for giggles".

This is hardly a smoking gun. I would venture to guess that similar discussions went on with other government leaders as well.

You also need to remember that most of the larger military forces of the world have contingency plans for every possible scenario. Somewhere in a vault at the Pentagon or where ever is a set of plans to invade both Mexico and Canada if the need ever arises, and every few years they dust them off and re-evaluate. This is what the military does.

They invaded a sovereign nation for one reason, to get their hands on the oil. The reason they gave was WMDs, they invented the "proof", the rest was speculation at best.

Did anyone sit down and try to envisage the gap created by removing Saddam. The consequences of internal struggles, external struggles and taking the lid off the area?

If they did, are those people still in the job of advising anyone above the paygrade of a Janitor?

The war in Iraq, led to easing up in Afghanistan, the Iranians funding terrorists, and to where we are today.

Saddam had a very effective way of keeping the Islamic idiots in line. He killed them.

Isn't it ironic, that in the gop's witch hunt aginst Hillary, that the most significant thing that gets found is something that will with out a doubt sink Jeb Bush's chance at winning..

Having solid proof that his brother took this country to war based on lies and pretty planned deals will not only sink Jeb Bush's chances but likely any of the other Republicans..

Likely the only 2 who can steer clear is Trump and Rand Paul. Meaning the GOP's witch hunt just killed most of their own candidates.

This is actually pretty fucking funny. They have literally sunk their own battleship.
