Camera guys

I need to shoot lots of pictures of clothing, mainly shirts, sweaters and so on.. What would be a good lens to use for something like this? I need to shoot pretty close due to room size and I was looking to pick up maybe a used Nikon d200 or 300 off craigslist.

I have no clue on lenes I just don't want to buy some $1500 canon lens. Any suggestions?

i totally recommend the nikon p900.

incredible camera, if you bought a d200, which is a fine camera, used + used lens you'd be looking at $450-500 total, you can get the fantastic p900 for about that same amount.

I was looking at dslr's because I also want to use it when I go hiking or for my travels so being able to swap out lenes would be nice.

that makes the camera even more perfect for your sitch

and that's the beauty of the p9000, you'll never need to swap lenses, it has an incredible zoom lens. you can literally shoot the moon with this cam. the real beauty of that for a noob photog is you get the freedom to explore a million focal lengths to figure out which one is yours.

check out the reviews and youtubes on it, you'll see. besides, you really do not want to be swapping lenses on the trail, for many reasons.

Ok, I'll take a look at it.

That is indeed a nice camera. I have been shooting with Nikon cameras ever since I started shooting 12 years ago and have always been very pleased them. Started shooting with the 5700 and then moved to the 8700, as well as used a Nikon SLR camera too. I also like the swivel monitor, as it can be turned in many various angles, which makes it convenient for all sorts of interesting shots.
