Biggest hurricane ever about to hit Mexico

Hurricane Patricia headed toward southwestern Mexico Friday as a monster Category 5 storm, the strongest ever in the Western Hemisphere that forecasters said could make a ?potentially catastrophic landfall? later in the day.

Residents of a stretch of Mexico's Pacific Coast dotted with resorts and fishing villages on Thursday boarded up homes and bought supplies ahead of Patricia's arrival.

Its going to be bad. in that area a bit inland from the beaches are a lot of little villages with small homes that can not take that sort of pounding. Death toll will be bad.

2 days ago that storm was predicted to go the opposite direction.

this hurricane will be YUGE for mexicos.

My manager is there on vacation right now :( About 3 hours from it though.

Well, I read this morning that this hurricane will make it all the way to Texas and will be dropping lots of rain there.... So three hours away might not be enough.

Just talked to a friend that was going to go to PV next week for a friend's beach wedding. Bad timing.

Yep - she's flying into Dallas tomorrow! Her flight will be arriving at 3pm, she said the hurricane is set to hit dallas at like 4pm with 12 inches of rain? So I have no idea how it's going to go, but I know I'm sick of playing manager and I am ready for her ass to be home so fuck this hurricane.

I have a co-worker friend vacationing down there as we speak. She's in Cancun, though...not expected to be near the eye of that thing. Still, I texted her earlier this afternoon and she says it's already "gettin' scary...gonna get a lot worse tonight."

Hoping everyone's safe.

This is going to be horrific. There will be towns that will cease to exist. :(

That thing is a monster, hopefully the people there come through it ok. It's going to be hell just from the rain and flooding, much less the winds.
