What to do with old domains names to make passive income?

I have a bunch of old domain domains names that have been around forever, well over 10 years. I directed them to tube and dating while label programs and a year later they've made $0.

What else can you do with some old domains? Is there a set it and forget it type of website you can make?
Even just making a few dollars a month would make it worth keeping the domain names and not letting them run out.

No traffic equals no money.

Since I retired I set most of my old domain names up with hostedtube.

I work on the principle that provided it makes enough to pay for the domain, it gets renewed, if not it gets cancelled.

I have been lucky with a few however that actually make a nice return with advertising clicks. One brings in a few $100 a month just from advertising alone, and what is strange, is its actually a domain that has been banned from google search, due to 'thin unoriginal content' yet the tube still draws in the traffic and makes the $...

It doesnt matter if the domain is not great - My one isnt, but it certainly gives me a passive income.

So thats my set - it -and- forget - it solution

Correction - My number one hostedtube moneymaker HAS been banned from Google but gets love from Bing.

This. I use a simple (daily_clicks * average_value * 365) metric for the sites in my half-dead TGP network. If the value is below about $15-$20 (a bit extra to be generous) then I let the domain lapse.

Tip: if you have an account full of domains that don't make much money, make sure they're not set to auto-renew. :winkwink:

This. I recently un-checked auto-renewel on many domains I have with GoDaddy and saved myself almost a grand a year in renewels for domains I no longer want or need. :)

Point them at a white label dating site you made with Dating Factory. Boom. Easy, simple, and nearly everyone is interested in dating. Seriously - Single people are looking to date or hook up, gay people are looking for gay people, married people are looking to cheat, have threessomes, or just to wonder what life would be like without the ball and chain.

Pointing them to a white label is a waste of any power they may have. It will dwindle quickly.

This is going to take a small bit of work, but this is your better route if your old domains have any substance at all. If they don't have any substance, this could really go either way.

1) Create a white label for WebCams, dating, VOD, whatever. Create them all. Using either a new relevant domain or old relevant domains, don't use any old ones though, make sure they are garbage.

2) Create a basic multipage site. One page with a detailed advertisement for each of your white labels. Text and keyword rich. Show picture samples. Don't misguide, be straightforward and honest but accentuate the good parts of the white label you are promoting.

3) Add link/advertisement to your multipage site and a random combo of your white labels from all of your old domains. If your old domains do not have content on them, make a basic one-page lander with some content. Decent text, relevant pictures, relevant videos, links to galleries, etc.

Depending on how many domains you have, this is a few days of work that will generate a fair stream of passive income long-term. All you need is a small handful of WebCam joins a month and your car payment is covered. That's easily worth the 40 hours of work for most people.

Even just making a few dollars a month would make it worth keeping the domain names and not letting them run out.

if you are eventually looking to sell them, please send me the list of domains with prices to bnstraffic at gmail dot com - thanx :thumbsup

Domains

You can always park them, but if they aren't generating traffic you probably won't make much there either.

Feel free to run the list by me here and I'll take a look to see if any qualify for our broker company.

If not we just opened Adult Flipp, a self service site to sell domains and sites.

Hit me up if you want to try redirecting your old names to HookUP related dating sites.
I can offer you high payouts per sale, for all countries. Good luck with whatever you decide.

HowlingWulf 10-26-2015 07:25 AM

I use an auto blogger script to pull in content and ad revenue. Those that take off I work on some more.

PornDiscounts-V 10-26-2015 07:31 AM

Put up a one post blog that looks more like a page.

Review a site having to do with the domains intended audience.

If it makes 1 sale per year it pays for itself.

Best-In-BC 10-26-2015 09:09 AM

Build a real site. Stop it with the adds and hostedtube stuff.

anexsia 10-26-2015 09:52 AM

I will usually throw up a quick blog and then put some advertising/popups on it until I get around to redeveloping it.

yet webmasters are still earning good money with their parked domains every day with us...

It's not guaranteed and it can be pretty random but people can still build pretty good traffic with their hosted tubes.

mineistaken 10-26-2015 05:41 PM

How much traffic are they getting? You should have gotten much more than $0 in a year if they had at least few visitors a day.
